Royce White skips game and practice (UPDATE: White issues statement)

Look I think Bull gave him some good advice. Royce should take it. Bull probably shouldn't have opened with "Royce must be mentally ill because his tweets don't match reality". That has an air of rhetorical gamesmanship and this is a serious issue. That's not gonna improve the situation.

But one thing will: Royce deleting his twitter account.

 

I feel sorry for the future ballers with nba aspirations who have mental illnesses. White is closing that door for them.

I beg to differ. It is curable, and is treatable. There are literally 1000's upon 1000's of people with White's condition who tough out the daily grind and still manage their treatment of their disorder, and have defeated the dreaded disorder.

I had some of the worst anxiety, (I go into detail in another thread directly related to Royce Whites condition) but I was able to overcome it once I dedicated my life to God, and focused on me becoming the master of my emotions, and not letting my emotions become the master of me.

He Tweets Bible verses, maybe he should read the book as well, instead of just cherry picking verses to support his one man crusade.

Bullard should be fired. He is not paid to do reporting. He is instigating the situation further. He is an average commentator and an even worse journalist.If you look at his twitter he retweeted the fake jordan account during this situation.

I'm not sure we'll ever know what really transpired to reach this point. One thing's for sure, there was probably lots of miscommunication and misunderstanding between both sides along the way. The Rockets appear to be in damage control mode and White appears to simply be out of control. Whatever the case may be, these issues should be handled privately and I believe the Rockets made a mistake not demanding that White (or all rookies for that matter) recuse himself from social media. I will say that I believe the Rockets themselves made a mistake by discussing this publicly through the coaching staff, ownership and media (Bullard). They're making it extremely difficult and awkward to facilitate an eventual return to the team if that's still even in the cards.

I want to know where Royce White's handlers are in all this? His family, agent, doctors, ex-coaches/teammates and confidants need to get through to this kid and tell him to stop trying to make a martyr out of himself. Crying out to Twitter is not therapy. For now, I think both sides need to impose a media blackout on this or else the ensuing perpetual circus will never allow for a happy ending.

How has his agent not called him to tell him to get the **** off twitter? Crazy. I honestly feel bad for the guy. Hope things work out for the best. Let's not rush to judgement, there's some serious mental issues at play here. It's not fair to belittle it.

 

I thought it was thoughtless, too, but I'm sorta glad it happened. How can he Royce say that the Rockets weren't accommodating him enough? At least, this way, he gets to feel how we feel. And, it's Bull, not some guy who's actually in the team or FO.

 

Anti psychotics aren't generally recommended for treatment of anxiety disorders.
They can be used as additional medications to Paxil, Zoloft etc if one has severe OCD or as short term medications for hyper arousal, aggression in PTSD.

 

One thing we can agree on is bridges have been burnt . lol know sit back and watch it unfold. Matt retweeted with confidence ,as if he had prove. Royce White needs to check him self before he wreaks him self . I think tonight can be overlooked with an apology.

 

White said that honesty helps his anxiety so thats probably what he's doing on twitter
