Royce White skips game and practice (UPDATE: White issues statement)

He was responding to the trollerific IzakDavid. Considering that (and considering the first Izak tweet he replied to) he was downright gentlemanly.

 

Like I said, I dont know. He said it to Morey allegedly.

Does anyone doubt that he would start showing up if he was given consistent minutes?

 

Belinelli turned down that request during his rookie season. Players have the right to refuse because their wages are structured around NBA game attendances.

 

They refuse and they show their NBA coach they aren't willing to work hard and do whatever it takes to get PT, and in turn, get moved to the back of the bench cheerleading with NO shot in hell of actually ever playing, ever.

...and don't forget the "head-case" label which is damn near impossible to shake, once you get branded.

They can say..."nope...I aint going" but if they wanna actually play, they better do what their FO says.

The fact that White whined his way out of DL is setting a bad precedent for the Rox FO in relation to control.....

 

I don't. He still be a pain in the rear in other aspects but the real problem he fails to see is that missing most of camp put him in a hole. Failing to report to dleague, puts him further out of game shape. How in the world could he, a mid-round rookie, expect to see any floor time given the hole he's dug himself in and refuses to climb out of?

 

You said the Hornets and not the Warriors. Belinelli didn't play for the Hornets until his fourth year. Also, his rookie year fell under the the old CBA, when the rules for D-league assignment were different. He still would have had to report for his assignment as a rookie, though. Players are still paid their NBA salary while in the D-league and are still on their team's roster, but listed as inactive.

Yeah if Mr. Buttocks is wrong, & rookies don't have to report to d-league if they don't want to, then what are the rockets fining him over?

I can't wait for the Rockets to get rid of that piece of siht! I hope the Rockets can stand up to the a-hole.

I got the former team wrong, it was the Warriors. I remember an interview where Nellie told the press it was "an issue of pride" as to why Belinelli wouldn't go to the D-League.

Yes, players are still paid when they go to the D-League, but they are only contracted to play in the NBA.

The players actually sought to be paid for D-League games in the new CBA. They weren't successful.

White has been AWOL from practices & games.

 

Royce White needs to be cut. Why are we continuing this? We have a bright future with or without him and honestly he clogiss up our rotation/roster. Maybe he would end up being better than Morris or Jones respectively but maybe not. Not to mention that Morris sat through his D League stint and took it like a man (mostly).

 

He needs to be fired

 

Welp, he better start making an effort to, like, show up to practice and stuff. And get in shape.
