Royce White skips game and practice (UPDATE: White issues statement)

You give a guy a inch they try and take a mile. At some point Royce is going to have a come to jesue moment about whether he wants to be Basketball player or a advocate for mental heath rights in the workplace.

At some point he is going to have to realize he can't do both well. One cause is going to have to suffer for the other.

 

My feelings are that Royce is trying to play the Rockets,not play for them.

I'm willing to give the Rockets and Royce time to work out a workable solution. This situation is one that is new for the Rockets and may actually be new for the NBA. Both sides need to learn to trust the other and that takes time.

Looks to me that Royce is meeting with Dr Fink (Really? that's his real name? bad name for his business) and that there is some communication with the Rockets. If the Rockets want this to end well, they will listen to the Dr they hired and will sort things out.

My opinion is that this will work out and Royce will have a chance to become a good NBA player.

What's worse is the people on twitter who is supporting him, I bet most of them don't even know what he has really been doing.

The problem is that White is so consumed by the perceived righteousness of his crusade that he receives any kind of push back, no matter how reasonable and well-meaning, as an attack. It makes constructive dialogue with him almost impossible, unless you're someone with whom he has a long history and trusts implicitly.

 

They need to find a way to void his contract or player association needs to step in and talk sense to him. Living his life through twitter is BS. I hope rockets get fed up and in this their way. White is earning a paycheck without working so I hope the fines are adding up until they get their money back

If you don't get points for the things you did yesterday as White says then why is he on an NBA team?

 

I think his point is that anyone would be more of an asset...hell I'd take Brittney Griner over Royce white .
