Think about it. They both have that low center of gravity. Royce even has about 2 inches in height and a longer wingspan. He is also strong enough. McHale likes to run small ball anyway. Royce would flourish using Chucks style of defense in those situations. Plus he is a very capable rebounder. He could easily take it up the court and get it to open shooters. I think Chuck would be a great mentor for Royce. Any other suggestions?
He would have to be an add-on. Seriously, he did say that he would like to stay here. It could just be PR, though. With the discussion of DMo training with Scola, it just got me to thinking about the other rookies. If they were even training or not.
I don't think it would be a waste of time. Royce would be a good training partner for Hayes. Royce could sure learn from Chucks work ethic. Remember when Chuck came back slim and trim that season? That's what Royce should aim to do.
What I mean about wasting his time is that I question Royce passion for the game. Like I doubt he would be willing to workout everyday plus idk how he would see Hayes if he can't get on the plane. That's why I said Hayes wouldn't waste his time
Chuck Hayes has released an official statement following the creation of this thread: *rather long read* Spoiler
