Royce White leaving RGV to go back to Houston, but not to play

You don't find the timing odd? This all happening on the same day that Terrence Jones heads back to the D league....you know to take Royce's starting job.... Royce got upset that he was getting benched for a better player and left the team over it, simple as that.

CNN is about to report on Royce White in a few minutes. They said he will be there.

Not that anyone should care.

 

So I take it the Royce White experiment is done for this year... Wow. Could this have possibly gone any worse?

 

The timing is only 2 days after him saying the NBA, the Rockets, and the rest of the world except his twitter supporters are out to get him.

The Rox say White is still on the RGV roster and they will not have any further comment, I would say the guy is AWOL.

If White just walked, just go to the league with a grievance this off season and try to terminate his contract or at least get an exception for his salary.

 

It's possible, but it's also possible that Jones was sent back down because Royce was leaving. Regardless, unless the Rockets say that THEIR doctors recommended this it's pretty much impossible for Royce to get the benefit of the doubt from fans.

 

His basketball career may be over but meh he might be ok. He still got paid to do nothing and has a college education. He can buy a lifetime supply of xanax and bewell as his 15 minutes expire.

He may be talented enough to warrant a shot at the NBA, but it's obviously not his passion. I hope he does find something in life that drives him to be his best because anxiety is tough to deal with, but 95% chance this is a future cautionary tale for rookies.

Unfortunately too many people think Royce has a real mental illness, and are far too sympathetic towards him.

I hope he gets his pay stopped again for this stunt.

 

Dude that insulting. I have like 8 friends who have smoked weed and now have severe PTSD. On a daily basis they live in fear wondering if someone is going to be smoking weed next to them, they get a contact high, and then relive the madness of their stressful event. It's horrible. One of them has to smoke weed on a daily basis just to deal with the PTSD of smoking weed.

Think about it, would you want to miss the start of March Madness just to be a bench player in D league games? Of course not, especially not if you don't really like playing basketball in the first place.
