tl;dr -- Royce White caved because he was running out of money, is going on a media blitz to spin that he was a trailblazer for his "dynamic cause" of mental health and is a noble pioneer, not a scumbag liar and entitled douche.
No actual "protocol" was laid out, they just have a vague, non-binding written statement that could have been signed before training camp. Don't count on Jim Rome to ask tough questions or hold people accountable. He must have thought Royce would come after him like Jim Everett.
Is it just me? The more he talks, the more I hate him. He seems at least marginally reasonable when on TV or radio. But his Twitter alter ego sets my teeth on edge and I think that hate is coloring my perspective when I see him. Everything he says seems disingenuous.
This guy is just unreasonable. If you can't get on board a plan there's just no reason to play in the NBA. This could also work. I think Royce should be blind folded and placed in a casket with ammenities before being placed on the plane. Sensory deprivation would most certainly take the fear out of flying.
This guy needs to be paid by the hour. I sense a lot of missed games that can't be rationalized by anyone but him in the Rockets future.
