Westbrook probably COULD guard him, even with a bad knee. If he tried to abuse him using his height and weight in the post, Westbrick would just run circles around him and deny him the ball.
Well...that's the difference isn't it? Don't think many compared Royce to Magic or Lebron. More like he could be Lamar Odom which was still a very nice player to have or Boris Diaw...
The excessive cockiness his his problem. It's fine to be confident, or even cocky, about one's skills, but Royce White believes in himself so much that he's stopped listening to everyone else, including the coaches trying to help him by telling him the changes he needs to make to improve in the NBA. He's gonna just try to play his way instead of developing new skills and addressing weaknesses so he can become a useful part of a winning team. Terrence Williams, I think, had the same issues. Right now, I can't see any team that actually cares about winning letting Royce White play the way that he wants-- dominate the ball as a 6'8'' 270-300 lb PG. Maybe he'll get a shot to do that with a terrible team with nothing to lose by letting him try it.
The only reason people are hating on him is because he is a nutcase. I too have been guilty of this. But still, no one here can deny the guy has skills. I guarantee you if Royce were to come on this next season and at least contribute, he would be an instant hero. Not only on Clutchfans, but around the league. Thus, again, shining the light on Houston. I think(hope)this past season has taught him something. If not, oh well.
There were a lot of different comparisons being thrown around that offseason and yes Magic and Lebron were brought up. More than once.
let's not forget Magic Johnson was 6'9 if royce was to get his mind right he could be a good player in this league.
Seen him in NBDL? Pretty much any player we sent down there dominated NBDL without a doubt even Terrence Williams...but not Royce. Royce had some good games here and there though but until that guy dominates the NBDL I'll have my doubts that he'd be even a useful player to a NBA team.
Are you comparing him to Magic too? Can we please stop? Why must we disrespect the game of basketball? By a few fringe people I'm sure. If it were more he would have gone in the top 5.
