For as good as he is advertised, Hibbert stands right now as the most overrated and overpaid center in the league. He's not outstanding at anything, or have a really nice set of go-to skills. I cannot see the hoopla in $58 MM for 12 points, 8 rebounds, and above average defense ... no championship aspirations. The Pacers' money would've better well spent going after someone, like Asik or Gortat, if he were available. Is Hibbert better than these players, I'd say with a long headscratch, probably? Is he worth five to six extra million a year, no way.
