My point is crystal clear from the beginning. I did not say that Wang is the solution for Rox, what I suggest is that he is better than bowen and Rox should give him a try (with a tiny contract) since he has settled his issue with CBA. He still has potential!
it seems you are really enjoying play words games My posts at least have some content there (bad or good, like it or hate it). But what's in your posts?
Wang Zhizhi sucks, a 7-footer that only shoots threes and excels at nothing else? Why give him a shot when it's been apparent that he is a benchwarmer for every team he has played on - Dallas, Clippers, Miami... I don't doubt that he has potential but if Zhizhi hasn't figured it out by now, he'll never figure it out. Stuart
1. He could not make to a NBA team. 2. He has not solved his issues with the Chinese Basketball Association or the Chinese Army, just not yet. 3. In conclusion, Rox does not need him. And he is not coming. Please think it over before posting nonsense like this.
I supported Wang when he refuesed to pay half of his salary to Chinese goverment. But he is really not that a good player in NBA. Look at his career NBA stats(6 year is not a short period): 9.2 minutes, 4.4 ppg, 41.7 fg%, 1.7rpg,0.3apg,0.2bpg,0.18spg. Combine those with his bad defense, I don't think he'd get another chance on any NBA teams.
Isn't Wang ZhiZhi, with his extremely impressive offensive talent, the ONE player who a knowledgable commentator (I forget who it was) couldn't figure out why they're NOT in the NBA?!
I dont think that is a good idea because basketball is so much different in China and over seas than here... it's a totally different sport.. plus the 3 point line here is farther than international one... I mean, look at Yao, it took him 4 years to get used to the system and put up big #'s ... and Yao is 7'6 !!
It's not even about how terrible Wang Zhizhi is. It' s the fact Wang won't report even if the Rockets sign him right now - he can't, he won't be able to re-enter the US without being re-issued a private passport, which is among the issues he's yet to resolve with the Chinese Government.
okaaaaaaaaaaay i think enough is enough on this pointless matter. Clutch time 2 step up and knock it down
Everybody knows what you want from the beginning, and we're also crystal clear from the beginning that we don't want Wang. Why do you always compare Wang with Ryan Bowen? They both suck big time. For something dirty cheap like you said, there are lots of players in the FA pool that are better than Wang and Bowen... You got it? And why can't you start this thread in July instead?
Stop talking about crappy wang. we should start to talk about this 18 years old young fellow. He is the future....Yao's skill combines with swift's athleticism
Sorry I caught the end of the discussion here, I was at work!!! Anyhow…my 2 cents. in fairness, I don’t think NBA gave Wang enough chance and embracing as it showed Yao, but of course it is also wang’s fault too, he DID NOT show NBA that he deserved more. Sure YAO is much better a player than Wang NOW, but are they really that much different before they entered NBA? I doubt it. Lots of fans in China mentioned that Wong and YAO are actually comparably equally good in china. I didn’t follow CBA, I don’t know if that is really true, but jugging from the first 2 months of their appearances in NBA, I take it as not too far off. “Butterfly effects”, if you know what it means, is that a tiny incident in life can turn things in a different way that the result is monumental. Yao had more than a couple of “butterflies” on his course of NBA career, 1, first overall draft!!!,. that will give one enough pressure/ motivation/ to WANT to play well more than some random draft from china (Wang, I don’t know his draft #). 2. Sir Barkley s comments about munching on someones rearend, that gonna light a fire under anyone, 3. all the attention people gave to yao, the expectations, well they all give you pressure, pressure to PLAY WELL… Wong didn’t have any of that, all he had was 5 minutes in a couple of games, people saw he sucked, and got impenitent, and he was on the bench forever and ever. Again, it was his fault too, but do you remember how YAO sucked in the beginning? How he was tripped by himself in one of the first games? Imaging Yao was just a #50 pick, and dispensable, he would be the water boy for the team for the rest of his nature biological life. OK, I don’t know really what my point is, I am just saying that WANG may NOT suck that much as we imaged, he could be good, if he was given enough chances. So if he is really cheap, I might want to give a shot. Loop
