Post number 6,997 wang zhizhi sucks. just cause yao is chinese, and wang happens to be chinese, doesnt mean we need to sign him. Wang is an asset to Team China and he is a very good basketball player. Some mentioned that he cannot manage English well and I think that more or less explained why he did not fit into Clipper or Heat. I think he can contribute in THIS Rockets as Yao can help him a lot to get through those complicated game plans. If he understand how it runs, I believe he can be a very effective role player in this team. I hope he can get back to Chinese National Team and we'll see how well he could do aside Yao this August.
Just curious, how does the fans in China feel about Wang? I ask this because it seems that fans in Beijing are a lot supportive of Wang than Chinese fans outside of Beijing. I haven't visited any Chinese forums lately so I want to know.
Let's see whether Wang can do anything in the CBA first. He even didnt get the chance of playing for a NBA summer team.

Wang was a Heat last season, so as you suggested Chinese basketball fans would be very unfortunate not being able to see Shaq and Wade playing. that is ridiculous! When WANG first came to NBA I knew he will be terrible and turned out he was even worse. When WANG first announced that he would not play for CBA I thought he had some guts and turned out he was just a coward . But I still believe that he is better than Yao..........'s Girl. Hope i am right!
Well even though I don't think Wang would help the Rockets much but I cannot really blame the OP, especially when we have to play Ryan Bowen at PF. Bowen's hustle is way overrated by JVG for some reason and I think it can easily be replaced by 2 headless chicken IMHO.
I come from Main land China,I check out hoopchina(one of the biggest basketball bbs) everyday.Seems that people very rarely talk about Wang in recent two years.--At least in Rockets forums(There are two Rockets forums because of too many posts,one is chatting,another is more serious.) When the first two years when Yao came to NBA,some people(most are Wang's fans) always compared Yao with Wang.And some posted to advise Rox for getting Wang.But in recent two years,nearly no people mention Wang's name.He is just forgotten.Until this month,he is again a topic because of his return to China. I think that some Wang's fans are too emotional rather than realistic.Maybe Wang will be capable of playing in NBA after some practise.(Still very questionable) But there is no chance in JVG's system.Everybody know what type of player JVG want.Defense is always the first priority.
