I also think people are missing the point about the ring and the scoring title. Karl is 2010pts behind Kareem right now. If he scores 13ppg for the next 2 yrs, he'll have his record and the ring. Anyone who doesn't think Karl Malone can's avg 13ppg even playing along side Shaq ,Kobe and Payton is nuts. Can anyone picture him diving to the basket while Shaq has the ball? Do you know how many times he'll go to the ft line just on that period. If he gets 10 shots a game, he'll go 5-10fg and at least 5-7 from the ft line. Even last yr he was one of the top players getting fouled last season. He'll get his 13 ppg guaranteed.
I think it would be more accurate to say we are crying over milk that hasn't been spilled. Let's just play the games. IF the Rockets play smart, they are hard to beat. I am not worried about the competition. I just want the Rockets to play up to their potential.
Free agents can't even sign until the 16th. I imagine we are a little slow on the uptake because of the staff changes, but we still have time. I imagine most of the agents in the league know the situation with the Rocks and know that the front office will ba calling soon. We will be in on the FA action. There are too many good payers and too little cap to go around. There is no way the Rocks are not goign to be making inquiries (they probably already are). Besides. They first week of free agency is all about the big names. There are 3-5 teams with cap space, so no sign and trades are being talked about right now. Why give something up, when you can just get the player you want for cash. Once Kidd, Duncan, Brand, and Malone make up their minds, things will start happening. We are not goign to get one of those guys. We are looking at the second teir. Miller, Payotn, Kandi, Brown, etc... That's just the FA too. Once the FA's start singing. Players become expendable and straight trades start being talked about more. Sorry to ramble, but your just a bit anxious there. Not time to start panicing yet.
