First I've already responded to your argument that they had no business telling her something after her tirade. But her f'in ridiculous behavior towards that Bear created for kids entertainment only brought the attention upon herself. You do buy tickets knowing that there is a certain atmosphere at the event you're attending. And as I mentioned, if you start tearing into a guy in a bear suit b/c of a harmless stunt then you should expect something be said to you. She created that initial hostility and crossed the line. Complain about service? This isn't a freaking restaurant. It's a fun environment that should be easy-going, not all uptight. And the Rowdies are given those tickets to cheer for the Rockets, period. Whether that be interacting with opposing team fans, players, etc. The second she made her tirade public she opened herself up for public criticism.
60 post in one thead and maybe one person agrees with him. No one knows what was truely said to her but she should expect some razzing for wearing a Laker jersey to a Rox game at the Toyota Center.
While I agree with the majority, I believe you do have a case Ill Skillz. We just have differing opinions on the line between having fun/showing team pride and going too far to the point of rudely harassing someone. I don't think you're winning too many people to your side though with your arguments filled with personal insults and self-elevation. I also think you can't use "common sense" as one of your arguments without saying almost everyone in this thread lacks it.
First of all it isn't a contest with a winner and a loser, and if it were by any rational assessment you giving an ass kicking would hardly be backed by any judges score card. The Rowdies responded reasonably not just because she yelled at clutch, but because she had a Laker's Jersey on, and as to be expected opened herself up to some good spirited ribbing.
I have seen people get pissed before at Clutch the Bear for the same thing. It's not like she's the first. When it happened while I was in attendance, people looked for about 2 seconds and went back to watching the game. It wasn't something we even gave a passing thought about. You should expect it from someone representing the TC. Not a bunch of overgrown kids dressed up a superfans... So if they ushers, merchandise vendors, food workers or security treat you ion a manner you deem unacceptable, you have no right to complain. You really do not believe that, do you? Exactly they are there to cheer for the Rockets, period. That does not include berating other customers, you're dead wrong on that one. In your misguided world, maybe...
Define razzing. Like I said, this is not the first time someone lit in to Clutch the Bear for something like this. The Rowdies think they are the defenders of the giant bear.
A couple of things... The original poster said they went at her hard which obviously means they pushed the envelope. As result of pushing the envelope the lady decide to display an obscene gesture to the crowd. This is not something the Rockets would want their customers involved in. As far as common sense, anyone who can not see that the Rowdies went over the line lacks it. Sorry, but that's damn true. My purpose here was to dispel the notion that is an example of acceptable behavior. Like I said a few times, the Rowdies need to appreciate the gift they have been given. If they continue pushing the envelope in this manner they may wind up doing something that will jeporadize the ability to form such a group in the future.
It seems like the way Ills feels towards the Rowdies, is that he tried to get in but didn't make the cut.
I agree with a solid portion of what youre saying, but earlier you said that the rowdies dont have ANY affect on the outcome of the game. Loud and crazy home team fans make a huge impact. It gets the home team more pumped up and comfortable, and it wears on the away team players. Basketball is a game of momentum, Fans impact the game more than you think. Think Playoffs
Let's look at some statements the original poster said... 1. So last night, Clutch the Bear comes up our aisle and is spraying silly string on fans wearing LA jerseys. A couple rows down he gets this couple and the woman stands up and starts screaming at Clutch ...honestly pissed off. 2.So we layed into her ...HARD! For probably 5 minutes solid we chanted all sorts of stuff at her like "SORE LOSSER" and whatnot. In the meantime, secuirty comes over to console her where she proceeds to berate him too. Finally she turns around and gives us the finger. At this point the Rowdies should know the situation has gone past the "accepted norm" as some of you call it. Continuing to harrass her is not going to help matters. 3. 15 minutes later when most of us ...but not all... stopped giving her grief, so for at least 20 mins, some of the Rowdies are on this woman. Anyone still want to defend them?. 4.she gets up and runs up the stairs. Moments later HPD comes down to tell us to stop throwing things. I was sitting very close the the woman. Not a single person ever threw anything at her. Do any of you actually think that an object was not thrown? We're talking about people that would spend 20 minutes during an exciting game to focus on some woman who had an argument with a bear. The cops are there and they think you threw something, so at that point, you should chill for damn sure. 5. Then after the blow-out was inevitable, they get up to leave and they have to take the walk of shame up our aisle. So we naturally lay into them ...yet again. She simply held up her middle finder all the way up the aisle. ahhh.....good times. They have razzed her for more than 20 minutes and had the cops called on them yet they still think she needs to be agitated some more. The lady then decides to display the obscene gesture once again. Do you people really think the management of the Rockets want this kind of behavior in TC?
It'd be a cold day in hell before I'd get in a get up like some of those guys do just to get a free ticket.....
When you buy a ticket and show up to the game, I'm pretty sure you accept a level of risk. The ticket is not a gaurantee that you will enjoy your experience, it merely allows you a seat to watch the "entertainment". Put it this way, at half-time when the RPDs and Clutch are throwing t-shirts and crap into the crowd, should the people who grab them be like "oh no, this wasn't what I paid for" then give clutch the middle finger? So why would Clutch shooting silly string into the Laker fan's hair allow her to go nuts? It's part of the risk that you take when you buy lower bowl seats and show up. And you should expect to get heckled when you obviously overreact and continue to overreact in a vulgar/inappropriate manner. In fact, I'm of the opinion that security should have kicked the woman out for giving the rest of the rowdies the finger. If anything she was "ruining the fun" of several tens of people, while the rowdies only pissed her off.
holy crap, you're still at it ms. ill skillz? damn, just let it go. repeat after me: the lakers are not going to win every game. ok? ok.
Are you serious? You realize you shot yourself in the foot when you admitted the ticket holder bought a ticket in sit in a seat to watch the entertainment and you can't do that if your behind 50 freeloaders who won't sit down.
