alright haters. i'm a current red rowdy. I admit, we're not quite as rowdy as we used to be because we dont get a good pool of people trying out and we havent been winning at home lately. We got 50 spots, and yet have just a little over 100 people try out? come on we cant be selective enough. all of you "rockets fans" dont try out but are the first to criticize us. some of yall its sounds like got kicked out of our group. guess you werent rowdy enough. Its hard to bring it every game, but most of us do. I want to tell you that I bring it FREAKIN EVERY GAME! I SCREAM MY HEAD OFF! I MAKE SIGNS! I WEAR A COSTUME & I AM DRENCHED IN SWEAT AND DONT HAVE A VOICE FOR THE NEXT 3 DAYS! & I DRIVE JUST UNDER 2 HOURS TO EVERY ROCKETS HOME GAME. DONT TELL ME WE'RE NOT CRAZY FANS! fellow Rockets fans stink at the TC. We try to get people to stand and chant with us and no one does. The lower bowl is emptied by the start of the 4th quarter and the upper bowl rarely fills up. We're the only ones making noise. Also with the rockets awesome inability to win at home in 2010, it makes the games all the more easy to be energetic about. not! And about the Who Dat? Cheer. Rowdies freaking love that one during the romp. Its a fun one to get into. Has nothing to do with the saints. We made the who dat? sign because it was mardi gras night. Dont criticize the rowdies. We got a lot of hardcore rockets fans in our bunch.

I'd love to see some more rockets fans tryout! honestly. Yall need to harness this anger your expressing on this forum into enthusiasm for the rockets. You dont always have to have a gimmick but creativity is encouraged. And let me make this clear "IT IS NOT WHO YOU KNOW!" There are not any rowdies that got in based on who you know. I know all of the rowdies pretty well, this is my second year, and all had no connections with the rockets prior to tryouts, to make that clear. This year was our first year to have a sponsor. Tmac wasnt paying for part of the seats anymore, and its costly for the rockets organization to not sell those seats out to paying customers. I was upset that we had to get a sponsor, but just go to or watch any rockets game, they have to slap a sponsor on everything to make money. TMobile phone frenzy, comcast high speed race, McDonalds time out, landrys signature player... It's not surprising that the rowdies had to get a sponsor this season. that doesnt mean we're corporate. I cannot imagine the TC without the rowdies. We do make a difference. I have people tell me after games "I just want to tell you, that you guys made my night. I loved sitting by yall" so for all of you that dont like us, I know there are a lot of fans who appreciate us. Sure we may not sound like the 22 win streak rowdies, which i was not a part of, but the other fans in the TC dont sound like the 22 streak fans did. but honestly, Clutchfans, if you think you can do better, try out. If you think you've got what it takes and can be at every home game, try out. btw, with all the criticism regarding the chants.. do yall have any better ideas?? tell me here. i'll make sure we do em if theyre good! lets not have a war between the clutchfans and rowdies. Rockets need all the help they can get from us fans. UNITE!
Its probably more enthusiastic to get behind a team that could win 60 plus games than a team on the verge of the lottery. What do you expect, a David Anderson chant?

People haven't been making as big of a deal about the Rowdies as they should have been making. I remember when the idea was first put out (I think it was in 2006), the players and coaches loved it, and fans really got into it, and there was a huge (I think) and pretty well publicized tryout process for the Rowdies. I haven't even heard about the tryout process at all the last couple years. I would think at a fan-filled board like ClutchFans, with expensive season tickets on the line, we would have a lot more interest generated for this event. What gives??? But I agree with rocketgirl, the hate needs to stop. They come up with a bunch of cheers, anyways, and whodat is just one of them. Are we really that bitter with the current state of the Rockets that we're hating on our own kind??? Our very own fans!??? Are you guys gonna start slapping your mothers for not popping out an All-Star caliber player to help the Rockets now?

The rowdies are pretty deflated as of late. i understand its a commitment, but its basically a job. You get compensated EXTREMELY well to show up, be creative, and LOUD. To those who are telling others to come up with new chants- were not the ones getting free lower bowl seats. Thats your job.
um actually not our JOB to come up with new chants all the time. We have great current chants. We are asked to be loud and cheer the rockets on, which we do. We havent had any complaints from the rockets organization, so until we do, we're going to keep our style. We should be having some new stuff on the way, to accommodate our new players. werent given much time between the trade and the first game. I am blessed to be a rowdy, best thing I've ever done in my life. I have 49 great friends in the Rowdies section I go to the Rockets games with to 41 regular season games, 3 preseason, and hopefully some post season games this year. we have a blast romping, getting fans pumped, cheering the rockets on, and celebrating when we win.
heck yeah thats me! lol I still wear the suit most games, like on Saturday night. We went through a period in january where none of us wore costumes as a superstition thing... lol But that didnt work apparently. lol. thanks for showing some love! and guessing by your name, youre a season ticket holder. that's awesome!

Every time i see you or that asian dude on tv i think those are two people i would love to go to the game with, ive sat next to the rowdies twice and i loved it both times because i can finally stand up the whole game and get loud without some AHole behind me getting mad and asking me to sit down and quiet down which always ends with me looking at him like he's a b*tch and causing weirdness, i have no love for 'fans' who want me to be quiet and sit down FOH
