great ideas. In regards to those "payback" and the other song, Idk if those could work. Ive never heard those songs, or at least think I havent just by reading the lyrics. lol. pretty sure Id need a lyric sheet for that. with 50 people, some of the more creative stuff we have tried in the past, is hard to get going because you have people who dont know the tune and such. Especially with the music and announcers talking the entire time. Its hard to hear the rowdies in the front if you're in the back and vice versa. Easier more well known songs tend to be more effective for the fans to hear and understand.
we have done cheers/songs and have had lyrics printed out, but it still just doesnt really work.

so there is this never ending criticism. we either do cheers people can understand and face criticism for no creativity, or we do creative cheers that people say they cant understand and it just sounds like noise and they say we should just stick to defense. lol. all we can do is try to do a mix between the 2.

organizing 50 people to do one thing is tough. The 80-100 people in the jazz rowdies must sound awful. no way can you get that many people organized in an arena environment without having practices. lol.

Instruments-there are instrument restrictions, tambourines are allowed, some horns, and only some drum sizes. We had a great drum that we had to stop using because it was too big last year. i think sign and instrument restrictions can be found on the toyota centers website.

I love being a rowdy and I want it to be listed as one of the top fan groups. But with only 4 home games left this season, (I will actually miss tomorrows game but am going to the game in SA on Wed) it is unlikely there will be a complete improvement that will start supportive and praising rowdies threads by the end of the season.

However, that gives Rockets fans/clutchfans until the first weekend in October, to think about what they could bring to the rowdies and how to improve the rowdies. I'd love to see some of you guys tryout and help us make this next season the best! at least tryout, see what we're all about.

I know some of you are against this whole only cheering for free ticket idea. ha. i should tryout for RPD if that was my intention, then I could just dance for my tickets and spare my voice, and get basically floor seats too. Its for the fellowship with other rockets fans, knowing that with the help of others voices you let your players know you are cheering for them and your voices can be heard by them, and that with the other rowdies you possibly may have helped psych an opposing player out while shooting free throws. rowdies just add to the TC atmosphere. Before I was a rowdy, the rowdies were my favorite thing about going to the rockets games, i guess they still are. lol. I wouldnt be able to afford to go to every game without it. but if I could afford it, I'd still want to be a rowdy or buy seats in the rowdy section because it's a blast. It costs me $25 in gas and 200 miles on my car every time i go to a game, so its really not free for me. Not to mention the money I put into costumes, posters, markers, etc. With no source of income, season tickets would be impossible for me to purchase.

lol. well actually there are signs/standing restrictions for the first few rows. So security might get after them before the 2nd row does. but that'd be tight if you did. Seats are about 1200 a piece btw.

I sat in Les Alexander's seats when I won the ultimate fan contest last season. Pretty sure I just ticked off people just by sitting, screaming, and yelling and banging my little noise maker. So its still possible to piss off fans just by sitting. So you should still go through with it if you get the cash. but I think most if not all court side seats are sold as season tickets. you might have to make some phone calls to make it happen.

    Great post.
I never thought about the whole restriction thing for instruments, but it's definitely understood.

You said you drove 200 miles to every game, and I noticed that you're driving from College Station.. You're quite the dedicated fan haha.
I'm going to school here in College Station and I could never imagine driving to Houston for every home game, let alone more than 5.

Can Rowdies give tickets to a missed games away, ie: to another rowdy to give to a friend? Or is it controlled by the Rockets to prevent you guys from selling them off?

Is there a Head Rowdy, President Rowdy or Corporate Stooge that guides/controls what the Rowdies do?

I have heard what I think is a plastic "soccer" horn being used in the Red Rowdy section? The Rockets fan guide, under guest conduct simply says, "Noisemakers of any type are prohibited"

That’s a long freaking drive, and once again the rest of us really enjoy and appreciate what you and the rest of rowdies do.

Yeah, I was wondering about that horn too. I think its awesome that no one ever says anything to him about it. lol. (please dont tell on him!) haha.

Yes there is a 'head rowdy" if you want to call it. he's awesome. he works in the promotions department for the rockets. he is the one that handles our tickets, gets us our tshirts, kicks out people, sometimes gets really nice signs and flags printed for us, basically our only connection to the rockets organization. Our tickets are all sent by email through flashseats the day of the game. beautiful thing, only having to remember to take my ID to the game.
This way, there is no ticket handover to other people, and people are not left with a box of 20 tickets if they get kicked out. We've had rowdies in the past, try to email their friends their ticket, that is what should and can get you kicked out. Plus all the rowdies get to know each other pretty well. If someone gave their ticket to a friend and he sat in our section, pretty sure we'd know.
usually, we'll have a handful of games where rowdies are given an extra ticket and can bring a friend. these games usually include the nets, twolves, basically any game where its hard to fill up the arena. i dont typically like it, it just messes up the flow of the rowdy section b/c friends dont know what to do. but I guess its nice to fill up seats, and let friends and family know what goes on during game nights for us.

In the future, I might just start giving my extra tickets to a random clutchfan. lol. I never have anyone to take.

yes, it is a long drive, but I cannot stand to watch rockets home games on tv, see the rowdies, and know I'm not there! lol. This half of the season I usually carpool with another rowdy. but still, 9-10 hours out of my day to go to a rockets game. lol.

    & thanks. i appreciate your appreciation. :)

Wow, there are some real haters on this thread!

If you think the Rowdies suck, then why don't you try out next year then? Lets see if yall can handle putting all your energy into each and every single game like they do!

I bet you that the haters on this board probably don't even go to Rockets games or if they do, they probably sit and watch the game like there at a movie theater and are as silent as a mouse.

Go Rowdies! Also, that grandma is effing hilarious!

    Dear Dad,

Thank you for your words of wisdom.

Next time I think about whining at all the cussing, lack of private messages, needing some meaningless preseason stats at my fingertips, make the thread ratings to my liking, have the ignore function one click away, or in general shape the board to my whim and desire, I will stop and remind myself of your enlightened words. Either that or I will give a long melodramatic speech about taking my ball and going home because I can't make people think how I do.

    Gracias Senor Silverback.

    Your ever grateful compadre,

Jeez. This was a haha, I parked next to you rowdy space rocket girl after we dogged the rowdies a bit.

This is the part I wanted to highlight. This is one of the main reasons why I have fallen out of favor with the rowdies. He is the one.

I mean, I know a rocket fan. He's a big Rocket fan. He flies in from Los Angeles just to see the damn Rockets. He's always there, and his mug is on tv every time they play in LA. He was on the rockets.com website and the caption said Rowdies.

He's a two faced punk. I should have kicked his ass at Lubys over on Waugh.

your response is all over the place. I honestly dont know what you're talking about.
we already talked about how you parked by me, we established that, now you're talking about your friend with a mug who flies in from LA... and you want to kick his ass??????

    CL'T did him wrong.

CL'T said it was cool to sit with the rowdies. Then he was shown on the Video Screen, so he immediately ran down there to take him out even though he said he would get him down there. This was game three vs the Lakers. It was a friday or thursday night if I recall.

FSN always shows this dude on the telecast, and Matt and Bill always point him and two other dudes out.

    hmmm...
that's your only reason? that's a weird story. I was of course at that game in the rowdies section, idk if I saw your friend. I think I'm familiar with this guy you speak of. I think he was a friend of the rowdies on myspace. i remember thinking, "tight dude lives in LA, goes to the rockets games" lol.
That was a TNT broadcast right? that may have had something to do with it because we want to have the actual rowdies showcased...maybe? idk what to tell you. lol. Im just making some stuff up. one night, some rowdies wore ugly blazers for Craig Sager so rowdies were moved around. I dont know the reason but your friend or you shouldnt be upset, I'm pretty sure rowdies werent shown the entire lakers playoff series on national TV. i would know. I had some awesome signs that didnt get aired too. :( some of my best work.

I guess mug means face?? lol. i misread that like from your buddy kam. I imagined a guy holding some Rockets mug like those rappers holding those blinged out golden chalices. my bad. hahaha.
