Even though GS lost, I like their chances. The game was up-tempo and I think if this pace continues GS more times than not is going to win. If this game was at GS I think the Warriors might've been able to runaway with it. Next game is huge though.
The Warriors didn't play smart and the Jazz were playing out of their minds and still Utah barely won at home. I mean the Warriors got what they wanted - an open look for Stephen Jackson at the end and he missed it. I don't see how the Jazz have any chance of winning in GS and I like the Warriors' chances of winning either Game 2 or Game 5 or hell even Game 7, but I think this series is over in 6 games with the Warriors on top.
OK. I took a look at the boxscore. From observing the game, far too many of the Warriors' TOs were unforced and a result of poor decisions. Matt Barnes had a couple when tried to imitate Magic Johnson. JRich and BD had some where they dribbled right into traffic and must have thought the Jazz players would just stand there. Many of the Jazz TOs were forced because of the scrambling Warriors defense. The Warriors lead the NBA in forced TOs but a team like the Jazz takes advantage of that by getting a bunch of layups when the gambles fail. It's obvious the Jazz cannot keep up with the Warriors players. Harrington, JRich and BD (if healthy enough) can abuse any defender on the Jazz off the dribble. Next game, they should only shoot uncontested 3s and stick to attacking the basket and mid-range shots. If they do this, the Warriors will draw fouls like crazy and be more efficient instead of bailing out the defenders so much.
No, many of the Jazz's TOs are bad passess - voluntary TOs. I dont expect good execution in the Warriors' basketball. The Warriors played a very good game last nite. Their fatal hole is on the board. Yeah, the Warriors' small lineup has speed advantage over the Jazz, but the Jazz frontcourt murdered the Warriors on the glass. 54 (20 Off) vs 36 (14 off) rebounds was the story last night.
Warriors played a great game and forced a lot of turnovers from the Jazz. They got killed on the boards which was expected considering the small lineup. I think they can/will win this series. They will probably win game 2 and then protect Oracle.
al harrington had his best game in the playoffs and he can still do better.. more rebounds and attack more to at least get boozer/okur in fould trouble ellis has yet to explode so watch out
Why do the Warriors suddenly look like the Suns, they were terrible for most of the year? Well, they looked alot better against the Jazz than the Rockets did, especially in Utah. Maybe the Dallas series wasn't a fluke, but why?
Good question. I saw some of their games earlier in the year and they were awful, uninspired and played very little defense. It makes me wonder if the bottom is going to fall out and they revert back to form. A big reason they are better is all players are finally healthy. Along with that, they are coming together as a team. Still, I'm curious to see if the Warriors turn back into a pumpkin during the playoffs.
Really kind of amazing, isn't it? I vote that they will turn into a pumpkin sometime in the second round. They may have thrown their best punch during the first game. Utah is still standing, and didn't play their best game. When Boozer gets going again, it may be lights out. But it is fun to watch.
Two soft players in Troy murphy and Dunleavy were replaced by players who could actually produce and play tough. Stephen Jackson for all his off court troubles is a baller on the court. Murphy was downright pathetic. Nice guy but a soft cone.
freedom and the boneheads found their alliance and swear allegiance to each other. "One for all, All for one". miracle, isnt it? Actually, they also have a very good and athletic roaster. BD and JRich are borderline all star backcourt that have good size. SJax is a good defender and sharpshooter. Then they have Matt Barnes and Monta Ellis playing out of their mind. Not to mention Al Harrington is also capable of attack and 3 pt shootings.
I still can't bring myself to watch the playoffs, let alone this freaking series, since the Rockets lost. This sounds pathetic, but my heart still hurts and I just can't watch the games
I still am unable to watch this series. I really feel hurt after our loss. maybe ill come around after a few games, but I just cant bring myself to watch it.
