they scored 2 points and blew a layup that could've been 2 more in a 45 second span. of course, the first 2 times he left the game their offense picked up (37 points in 14 minutes). that's how much damn talent this team has.

Spurs show that defense and rebounding are still kings. Not this fast break three point jacking everyone is talking about.

Nash just put too much ketchup on his burger and it gets on his nose.

When Nash takes his normal breaks, they usually do OK, especially when Barbosa is red hot. It's like they all shift into a different gear and play even faster than normal because they have to keep up with Mr. Lightening Bolt. But during crunch time in games, the other players look to Nash so much they sometimes break down without him. They may have lost anyway but the Suns offense after Nash went out looked a little jittery and out of kilter to me. In the 1/2 court, instead of Nash attacking the basket and forcing the issue, the Suns go into a predictable one-on-one mode that is easier to defend.

It's incredible how talented the Suns are. If Nash went down in training camp and they knew he was lost for 2-3 months, I wonder how well they would adjust without him, given the time to prepare.

they won by 5 points and it was basically a one possession game most of the 4th. and the suns could still win the series and are basically, at worst, the second best team in the league. if that's what fast break three point jacking gets you, maybe it's not so bad.

The suns would be a lottery team without nash or at best a 7th or 8th seeded team.

The Spurs are a professional, classy organization full of classy, professional guys. I have a hard time bringing myself to hate them, which comes naturally to me with anything having to do with the Mavericks (they're loud, obnoxious and boastful without having done a damn thing to earn it).

I like Duncan, Parker, Horry and love Pops as a coach; I think he's the best coach in the league along with Jerry Sloan.

With that being said, I am rooting for the Suns to win it all because I would like people to stop saying, "See! Their style will never win in this league." I would like to see more teams trying to do what the Suns are experimenting with. Unfortunately, the Spurs are always getting in the way...

You put a superstar into any 7th/8th seeded team and they are an automatic contender.

If the Spurs beat the Suns and have less talent, does that not prove the point about styles? I ask this strictly for the sake of argument.

Lol no the suns would suck with alston. If you take the best player in the nba in nash off the suns team they would suck. The suns were a lottery team the year before nash joined them.

Styles notwithstanding; Duncan is a talent equalizer; as flashy as Amare is, Duncan is an all time great - and will go down in history, especially if he wins his FOURTH finals MVP, as such.

He controls everything down low defensively, and gets mad attention on the other end (or he scores nearly effortlessly). If this guy played in LA, New York, Boston or Chicago, the debate would rage constantly on HOW HIGH on the list he should be - hell he's already won a ring with a 2nd year Parker and a 2nd year Stephen Jackson as his starting backcourt! You think he's more an a disadvantage with a 2-time all-star Parker (who just outplayed AI) holding his own against Nash - PLUS Finley and Ginobilli?

I didn't say the Spurs were chopped liver. But the players you mention don't add up, talent-wise, to Nash, Amare, Marion, Barbosa, Bell, Diaw. Let's say TD/TP cancel out Nash/Amare. The Spurs 3rd best player, Manu, falls behind both Marion and Barbosa. The Suns clearly are more talented, IMO. The reason the Spurs match up well with them is the Spurs defend them well and punish them on offense. I think style and coaching has everything to do with it. If you gave Pop both teams, his Suns would beat his Spurs 4-1. The Suns defense would be totally suffocating with Pop as coach, like the old Bulls teams with PJ & MJ. On offense, they would be more efficient than the Suns under D'Antoni though they wouldn't play as quite fast.

TD is great and he was awesome yesterday, but he's not the only reason the Spurs are kryptonite to the Suns. Style has a lot to do with it.

I respect the Spurs but damn I am so tired of seeing them in the WCF and/or Finals!! To me, they are so boring and robotic. Add to the fact, that they have 3 absolute punks on their team in Bowen, Parker, and Ginobli.

I was not happy with Nash getting hurt and not being in there at the end. I think the Spurs would have probably still won but you never know. The Suns will now have to win a game in SA. I am still picking the Suns to win this series in 7. Go Suns!!!!!!!!
