Yeah they can win if they go real small and speed the game up 2X. They have to go relentless like Warriors played the Mavs. Keep pushing the ball every time down the court and have Barbosa who is one of the fastest players in the league, run nonstop on the Spurs. They need to wear Tim Duncan down by controlling the tempo and attacking Duncan at the basket to draw fouls on him. If Nash just dribbles around like he has been doing lately then I see them losing. So he must make this a stamina game where Spurs should hang onto to for dear oxygen. Make or miss a shot just push the ball up their gut and make them adjust to your style. They cannot win a grind it out kind of game with their big men out so play free flowing nonstop run and gun.

No, I agree with the next two.

I think either team has a good chance as long as TD and Nash are available. They are really the ones that make it go. Short term, Amare, Marion, Manu, Parker--all overcomeable. Also since it is a Phx home game that helps.

I agree. Lets remember how far the Suns got last year with no Amare and no Kurt Thomas (there best post defender as we have seen). 4 wins versus Lakers and Clips, 2 wins versus the Mavs. It is hard to win at small ball over time against good teams, but you get hot, you can win any one game.

Parts of post from the suspension thread....

You're right, I take it back. Especially the way Duncan's been playing, he's still the engine.

    The spurs are dirty **#$#.

They were rewarded for an ugly flagrant foul.

Mike D. should wait until Duncan is on the bench, have a 3rd string player "accidentally" undercut someone right in front of the SA bench. Then someone else "looses control" and drops a knee in the player on the ground. After all that, look at the SA bench and taunt them to come to you with a few colorful words.

That should get them out of their seats.

But then Stern might rule that it wasn't an "altercation"

The only way to respond to physical play is to be physical.

If Kurt Thomas was out instead of Diaw, I'd give the Suns a chance. But missing both Amare and Diaw is just too much of a blow to them against the Spurs. If TD has a good game the Spurs will blow them away in the 2nd half. If Kurt Thomas gets in foul trouble during the 1st half, the game will be over early. The Suns have depth, but Amare and Diaw overlap too much. I see no way the Suns can win this game tonight unless the Spurs giftwrap it. The Spurs are too methodical and calculating to blow a chance like this.

Don't come crowing at me if the score is close at halftime. It might take longer than that for the Spurs to dominate.

I do want the Suns to win tonight, but I can't see it happen.

With regards to last year, it is true that they are able to win without Amare. But Diaw was able to replace him somewhat with some ok post presence. Now that Diaw is gone, you are missing that post presence completely. Also, remember that last year they had Tim Thomas, who they also used sparingly in the post. Thomas could be relied upon from time to time to look for his own basket.

If Marion has to concentrate on defense like he has the whole series, I don't see him contributing much on the offensive end. Yet, somehow the 30 combined points that you lose from taking out Stoudemire and Diaw have to be replaced. Unless Barbosa turns it on this game (and he hasn't for much of this series), the Spurs will win convincingly.

Complete small-ball with even more run-and-gun may work for 3 quarters, but the Spurs execute too well and will overcome this pretty easily. But we'll see what happens, can't wait.

Of course, if the Suns do anything like that, Stern will punish them worse since they'll view it as retaliation and intentional. They let this series get out of control when they didn't do anything to Bowen for his continued dirty actions. NBA fans (read: not Spurs fans) are suffering as a result.

The energetic start was expected.... now will they have enough to sustain it over 48 minutes, with zero depth.

Nads. In. Throat. Someone please do it. Even though it's highly suspect a dirty b**** like that even has them.

This is by far the hardest I've ever rooted for a non-Rockets team.

    GO SUNS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah he is delivering pure ownage on the Spurs. He may end up with 20/20 type numbers if he keeps it up.
