If Shaq could only make his free throws, the Bulls would stop fouling Shaq. The Heat would have the lead now, if Shaq and Wade made at least 75% of their free throws.
Obviously if the Bulls face the Pistons most people will pick Detroit. But this season, the Bulls would have swept them 4-0 except for one close loss. Comparing the experience and players blah blah blah, etc, etc, Detroit would have the advantage. The problem is you actually have to play the games. Back in 1991, the Lakers split the first two games in Chicago against the "baby Bulls" and Lakers fans felt pretty good going back home. I think you are old enough to remember what happened. Bottom line: I don't care what the chalkboard says and neither do the players. If the Bulls close the Heat out and the Rockets advance, there will be two 2nd round series I will be heavily invested in. If the Bulls bring their "A" game (or close to it) the Pistons will go down. I want them out of the playoffs more than any other team and the Bulls are also my favorite EC team still left.
It's a toss up. I really think the two teams match up extremely well and very close talent-wise. It will also be fun seeing Big Ben go back to Detroit and take on his former team. Detroit still has a lot of love for that guy; he pretty much personified that town.
yea, i never figured out why they did that... i mean hinrich is a great free throw shooter, that was just plain stupid
I am sick and tired of seeing the self proclaimed MDE player ride the bench during crunch time while Penny, Kobe, and Wade have to cover for his @ss. You cant be MD if you dont sniff any court time during last minutes of the game.
If Shaq wasn't the MDE for a few years during his heyday he was pretty close. What's happening now does nothing to negate that. He's over the hill and sliding down. That dominant burst in the first game of the series (negated by the refs) is gone. It ain't over until the Bulls win 4 but looks like the Miami Heat championship run is over. I'm sure they will go out swinging and flagrant fouling before they are done.
If there's a team that can come back from dead, it's Miami Heat. This series is not over until it's over.
wow chicago really blew the end of both quarters. at the end of the first, they take their foul to give on wade at halfcourt after only 1.5 seconds ran off and only 2.4 were left. they should have just let wade go and made him force up a 3. instead, this gives miami a chance to inbound it all the way to walker, who hits a 3. then to end the second, gordon misses a ft to tie it, and then some stupid bull goes for a steal on the pass ahead to wade, allowing wade a clear path to the basket which eventually turns into a 3 point play after a stupid foul where i think nocioni just barely touched instead of really fouling him. they've lost 7 points on thos end of quarter exchanges. hopefully it doesn't cost them.
