The Bulls can either blow it open completely or relax and let the Heat back into the game.

chris duhon may want to consider moving somewhat the next time he's guarding dwade. just standing there at the 3 point line while wade takes 4 dribbles past you probably won't get it done.

and chicago goes from up 17 with the ball to end the 3rd to a stupid turnover that lets miami hit a 3 to make it 14 and then plays no D to start the 4th to get it down to 11. how about y'all not blow 3 quarters of great work by being lazy for 1.

It is a shame the Bulls have Deng, Nocioni and Sefalosa for basically 1 position (maybe 1.5 positions). I take any one of those guys off their hands.

I still don't think the Bulls are that good of a team, still no real inside option, but their strengths (athleticism and shooting) really work against Mia's weakness. I would say Mia is done, but they are on thin ice.

Nocioni is a RFA. He would be tempting to sign.

I'm not saying these Bulls are as good this season, but the Pistons won a championship without an inside threat. In fact, they had the same center, Big Ben. They had the same major weakness, which was scoring droughts. If you remember, the Pistons barely scraped by a weak Nets squad and didn't look like a championship team until they beat the Lakers. Don't sell the Bulls short.

Paxson was so smart not to deal for Pau. I question how much more of a value he is vs. Deng or Gordon individually.

Rasheed was the missing piece on the Detroit team. He gave them someone who they could throw the ball into. Chicago is missing that guy.

That Detroit team had already been to previous ECFs, and that was before acquiring Sheed.

Billips and Sheed both presented lots of problems in ISOs--moreso than any current Bull IMO. Both could also do some work inside versus smaller or slower players.

I think you will probably see it the next series. Detroit has the athleticism to match-up with the Bulls movement and their offense will go stagnant. Detroit will also have some trouble with the Bulls defense--but in the end Billips, Webber, Wallace and McDyess will get more systematic and quality half court looks in isos, and Rip and Prince can get their opps off of them.

I totally agree with you here. The Bulls would have given up way too much value. Substitute PJ Brown for one of Gordon or Deng and it might have worked for both teams.

Hey, what do you guys think about offering an MLE to Nocioni? I wouldn't say he is greatest fit for us, but not bad. It would mean Tmac becomes more of an exclusive SG, and SB or Nocioni would pick up more PF minutes, but Nocioni is actually a really good rebounder for an SF (a lot better than Tmac or SB, better than Deng, and about equal to Howard).

I'll tell you if I were the Heat, Toronto, Lakers or Cleveland--someone to add off the ball spot up shooting, scoring punch, energy and toughness--he would be a prime target this offseason. I wonder if the Bulls would match a full MLE with their plethoria of younger swingmen them are committed to (Kelly or others in tune with the Bulls organization have some thoughts on whether he is in there long term plans?).

Based on the 1st quarter, the Heat are ripe for another loss tonight. Hopefully the Bulls won't blow this game. They look like the better team, plain and simple. Keep it up Bulls!

I agree. The Bulls are definitely the better team this year. They have the most mature core of young players in the entire league. They're damn impressive to watch, they're very disciplined.

Bulls-Pistons in the second round should prove to be a very interesting and intense series to say the least.

One more thing: how deep is this Bulls team? I guess that's what ten years of futility and decent drafting can do for you.
