I bet at the end of the game, there will be fans accuse Kobe not get his teammates involved. LOL, how silly it is!
32-15 after one. Ouch. I wonder if this is going to be a huge blowout like the Rox game 7 from last year, where the lower seeded team was sky high at the beginning of the series but finally crashed when their weaknesses were totally exposed at the end.
He's an incredibly young player, it might be foolish to give up on him just yet. These are the playoffs and it's nothing out of the ordinary that player this young and inexperienced struggle on the big stage. He certainly has the requisite size and athletic skills to be an NBAer, but he's still somewhat raw. BTW, if you're going to get down on him and call him the "biggest reason" the Lakers haven't closed out the series yet, may be you should at least give him credit for helping the Lakers win Game 4, a game they wouldn't win without him? Let's be fair here, he had his moments, although he certainly ain't much as of yet.
Smush picked the worst time of the year to go cold. The Lakers would be better off putting anyone in there. Put in Vouyavich(sp?) and let Cook get some sub minutes. The game isn't over yet though. They play 4 quarters for a reason. I just hope the Suns can hold on and come away with the win. In an ideal world Bell would be kicked out of this game, and Kobe would go home a loser. Then he could face the fact that when he scores big at the expense of his team they lose.
Was Kobe scoring 50 a winning strategy? They said it in the pre-game. When he does that the Lakers lose. I don't care if they lose with Kobe scoring 50, or Kobe's teammates blowing it. I just hope they lose. I will say he would be better off playing within the system. Because if his teammates get a chance, they might wake up. If they don't get a chance, we won't know if they woke up or not, and the Lakers will definitely lose.
Vucavich (sp?) at least can shoot, he's played pretty well in the series. I see PJ bringing him in for Smush out of this timeout. Again, I must ask, why is it that the Suns can plug in no-name players and get great production out of them? And how can we get Barbosa in a Rox unis? BTW, that was absolutely a flagrant on Lamar Odom, I can't believe they didn't call it. Odom CLEARLY targeted Barbosa's head...double-standard at work, ladies and gentlemen,
You still don't get it, don't you? Lakers lost was because of their defense. Early on they can stop Suns, now they can't stop nobody. That is the key.
you mean the game he started 0-9 and was letting nash score at will and getting abused by everyone he switched on to? that game? maybe if he played like an actual nba'er they wouldn't have needed his heroics.
I agree, the Lakers' defense WAS what gave them that edge early on in the series, but they have completely abandoned playing D and let the Suns score almost at will. However, I think the Lakers have one big run in them, and they will eventually tighten up their D, may be in the 2nd half.
you've got it all wrong, kobe making shots is why the lakers lose. look at this game, he keeps draining 3's. but they're down 12. kobe hitting 3's must be why the lakers are down 12.
That is why accusing Kobe is really absurd. When Brown missing point blank shots, what is Kobe supposed to do, keep feeding him the ball? He is not Yao for cry out loud.
ooh, barkely said it? it must be true. i think the lakers had a .666 winning % this year when kobe scored 40+. it worked. how long do you wait though? until the 4th when you're down 35? at some point you have to realized you've got one game left and you have to do something about it. and smush continues to fill the highlight reel with one of the more blatant hooks of all time. 2 straight possessions down 12: smuch misses wide open 3, odom forces 3, almost airballs it. teammates still asleep.
The best thing about this series is that we've found out just how many Kobe-lovers there are on the BBS. I honestly had no idea.
Allowing 60 points in a half is crazy... but then you realize the Suns probably should have had 75 points, so I guess LA did improve the defense.
