I said when it was 3-1 not to count the Suns out. Now that it will be 3-3, don't count the Lakers out. Anything can happen in Game 7.
Wow this game is amazing. Tim freaking Thomas (who I thought was done in the NBA) is hitting clutch shots and Kobe Bryant is making shots that are seemingly impossible. Simply wow...
It wouldn't happen... the league is so watered down now (due to expansion), nobody remembers how good those teams were. Its not the leagues fault... they had to grow... its just that you'd hope they'd strike gold and get a bunch of guys who are just as strong-willed as the past stars to make names of themselves. There just aren't that many of them.
Just stop with your negativity, you are the only person who can make a negative out of this great game (other than the Laker fans tonight). The league has some stars, not Jordan/Magic but they are stars in the current NBAs: Garnett, Iverson, Nash, Kobe, Shaq, LeBron, Wade, Yao, T-Mac, Duncan, Ginobili. If anything it's more of a world game look at all these stars from overseas making it big: Tony Parker, Stojakovic, Gasol, Ginobili, Kirilenko, Yao, Nash, Diaw, Duncan, Nowitzki, the list goes on.
Good game by Nash. Looked like an MVP, or maybe Smush made him look like an MVP. Kobe looked not-human there at the end. Good D by Marion, I think the Suns finally figured it out, put Marion on Kobe to make him make impossible shots. 50 points for Kobe. Huge shot by Tim Thomas, still can't believe it.
Did Nick finally get his panties out of a wad? Nick, the NBA is just fine. Goodnight guys that one was fun.
You really didn't get the spirit of my argument if you're that easily offended. Calm down. You saw tonight as a "great game"... I saw two teams who weren't playing good enough to pull away, except when Phoenix finally decided to bring it (or LA decided to pack it in) at the end. Finally, you're right... the NBA has changed. Its no longer in the "top 3" (college sports are more big money, and don't have the image problems), and thus they've decided to go global. Stern saw this well before Jordan was going to retire... and he planned accordingly. The guy's a genius... I just wish the NBA inspired the same feelings today as it used to.
I feel great, I just saw an excellent basketball game, it's no different of a feeling than watching a great game 10 years ago.
Don't get arrested ... and if you guys are fine with the NBA now, great. I'm just saying it used to be better.
Tim Thomas saved the Suns. And to think, he's not even on the team until late in the season. That's how it goes.
barkely thinks kobe should've passed it to smush parker at the end of regulation. what? he may as well have handed it to steve nash and walked off the court if we has going to do that. and hopefully morons don't spin this into the lakers losing because kobe didn't share. kobe's offensive efficiency was very good and no one else was doing anything. and he mostly started doing things once the lakers had proven they needed it. and for some reason, people think the lakers were winning b/c of kobe's passing making the offense better. their offense has been worse. significantly worse. down from 1.06 points per possession down to 1.03. that may not sound like a lot but that's 8 wins over the course of a season. the reason they won was b/c of their D, which knocked the suns down from a huge 1.10 PPP down to a dismal 1.01. now the suns offense is back and the lakers sharing stuff can't keep up. oh, and **** tim thomas. let me guess, in the next series he will suddenly be mortal again and start bricking 3's. the freakin' series would've been over if he missed that 3. a guy not even playing earlier this year is the clutches guy all of a sudden.
