i know manu/parker/duncan are 2-19 right now, but ever since i've walked in the nuggets have blown 2 3 point play layups and then gone 1-4 on the ft's, dropped another ball as they went for a layup, committed about 5 turnovers and given up an amazing number of offensive rebounds. it's amazing they're leading.

and parker just blows an open layup.

The Nuggets match up well with the Spurs. They missed a lot of opportunities in the 1st half but still lead. It would help if their bench had a pulse.

If they keep their poise this game will go down to the wire and AI & Melo are very good closers. This is fun to watch.

If the Nuggets can continue to play great defense on the Spurs, they will make this a VERY competitive series. I don't question whether or not the Nuggets can score... I do, however, question their resolve to play 48 minutes of tough defense like the Spurs will.

It basically breaks down to the team that makes the least mistakes. I just don't think the nuggest have the ability to do that.

    Question is.....

In the final minutes of the game, can AI/Melo keep their poise and take GOOD shots?

I think AI can... for the simple fact that he can actually make tough shots, as well as find the open man if its not available... much like T-mac, except a helluva lot shorter.

This game has been VERY physical in the last 3 or 4 minutes.

someone on the nuggets might have to take out jacque vaughn pretty soon here. he's trying to knock out the whole backcourt.

and how do you hit a 3 and them immediately come down and give horry a wide open 3 on a simple pick and roll. i'll just never understand.

and then you let slow old horry cut behind you for a dunk. have some ****ing pride.

The Nuggets have to lean on AI and Melo now and those two guys must get off good shots. The Spurs offense gets very methodical late in games and will be hard to stop now.

that's about the 4th time the spurs have gotten a layup right at the basket like that.

and the 2nd time nene has just dropped one out of bounds.

And the Spurs need every bit of him... and if that's really the case, this will be a much closer series than I ever thought.

Listening to Kevin Harlan mix up Nene and Najera is really funny. "Nene with the rebound, oh wait, that was Najera. Throws it out to Iverson who passes to Nene, wait, yeah it's Nene, throws it down."

This one's about done... Denver can score at will, and their defense is MUCH better than San Antonio ever expected.
