I don't want to go on a tangent here, but Bill Simmons brought up an EXCELLENT point in his article about Dirk. If you're an NBA player and you had to go into battle (gamewise and maybe melee-wise), wouldn't Stephen Jackson be on that list? The dude is a gamer. Did anyone catch the short sequence where Devean George popped Pietrus and both of them got a double foul? Jackson got right in between them and had that craaaaaaaaaaaaazy look in his eyes. Like seriously, Golden State as a team is scary as it is but then you throw in a big question mark like Stephen Jackson into the equation, they are something. And when you have one of those guys on your team, you are destined to win (i.e. Maxwell, Rodman, and in a smaller sense, Nachbar vs. Malone).

Golden State is missing an absurd amount of point blank shots.

This is like 80's-style basketball... minus the execution.

well as soon as i say gsw never misses an opportunity, they miss about 5 layups in a row. but if golden state plans to slow dallas down by giving them wide open look after wide open look all game, that's probably not going to work.

but with the athleticism through the roof. so much speed out there. gsw might've averaged 135 a game back in the 80's with those D's and the pace of those games and those athletes.

That last 3-point attempt by Dirk was ludicrous. Legs and arms flailing out of control in the act of shooting in hopes of getting a call...except the Mavs were on a fastbreak, he was wide open, and literally nobody was within 10 feet of him.

How typical. He's gotten to the point where he just subconsciously flops, regardless of the situation.

Weren't there a few teams that averaged 120+ in the 80's? Doug Moe's Nuggets?

this lead seems so huge but there are still 7 minutes left in the first half and with the warriors, they could take it away in no time.

on the other hand, like i said, if their idea of catching up is giving dallas dunks and layups, it won't happen.

What are the Warriors doing? They are trying so hard to lose this game. Dallas isn't really playing any defense. Warriors just threw balls over and over again?

yeah, somewhere around there. that's why i said 135 (although that's probably a little too high). either way, it'd be crazy.

edit: denver peaked at 126.5 ppg in '82. then they had about 5 more teams over 120, and SA had 2 right around 120. run TMC peaked at 118.7.

Why is Dirk having convulsions every time he catches the ball??

    It is a pathetic site.

Don't worry guys, a 20 point lead in this series is like a 17 point lead in a normal one.

The refereeing in this game is ridiculous. As an NBA fan first and Maverick hater distant second, I am embarrassed for the league.
