Jumping from being a Rockets fan to a Mavs fan is like someone having a sex change from being a man to a woman.

    I just vomited.

Don't even call yourself an ex-Rockets fan. You weren't a real fan. A real fan sticks with their team through everything. And a real HOUSTON fan does not tolerate any Dallas teams.

this has got to be the most funniest thing ive seen. You are either really trying to convince yourself that you are a mavs fan on the outside but truly your heart lies with the rockets. You can't deny it.

Or, you are a nut case. Thats one of the worst reasons to switch teams = bandwagon fan!

If its the latter, then i hope you stay on the darkside, apparently your are the curse to any team you root for. Continue rooting for the jazz. Continue rooting for the mavs. it will help rockets fans in the long run.

I figured out why redefined likes the Mavs so much.

Erica Dampier and Kelvin Cato are practically brothers.

even though it was talked about before the series and i even said in game 1 or 2 that i didn't see how the mavs could win this series, it's still kind of shocking that it's actually going to happen. that one of the greatest regular seasons ever, filled with huge winning streaks, is going to end in the first round to an 8th seed.

and it's weird, as much as i and others like to call the mavs mentally weak, if they were in a series with either of the other top 2 teams in the league, they'd be at least 50/50, if not more, to win those series. i mean the spurs are a great defensive team and one of the most disciplined teams in the league, and yet the mavs are talented enough, versatile enough, and well-coached and disciplined enough to be favored over them and to beat them. and yet they found the one team out of 29 that just completely owns them and matches up crazily well with them. i guess you could argue no 67 win team should have a team that owns them, but it's still just amazing.

it's basically as if their fitness for a long playoff run (depth, versatility, halfcourt ability) is their undoing against this extremely unorthodox team. and it doesn't help that the unorthodox team is maybe the best 8th seed ever. it's just strange to think it's going to go down like this (although fun to think about mavs' fans dealing with it) and that i'm going to have to watch phoenix or the spurs hoist the trophy this year most likely.

Im starting to think we dont want to go up against GS...

The Rox... they are a halfcourt team...

but the problem with the Rox is lots of times they dont play like one...

if you play a halfcourt game... you have to do it everytime down the court regardless of score....

you have to be prepared to use the 24 second clock... as if it was a bonus that you ran the clock out... amount of time in a game being a factor against us...

the whole idea is to throw the other team off its game...

and the only way we beat a team like Chicago, GS or Phoenix...

is to trade on the fact they will take quick shots... and lower % shots hoping to get a shot again in 10 or 15 seconds...

if we a disciplined enough to do that... we can beat these run and gun teams...

    unfortunately were not...

It kinda reminds me of baseball... where even a terrible team can win a 3 game series any given time over an elite team, if the pitching matchups work out in their favor (or a great team just happens to be in the midst of a horrible hitting slump).

Basketball is supposed to be more consistent, in terms of game-to-game matchups... and I really felt they would adjust to the Warriors speed by now (whereas its harder in the regular season), but something is painfully obvious about how much the Warriors feel they should win EVERY game they play against Dallas (and somehow, Dallas looks like they feel the same way).

That's the only reason why I cite the mental factor... the Mavs know they can hang with the Spurs/Suns because they've done it before, and thus they'll look pretty good against them (their talent not withstanding). But with the Warriors, they've NEVER (in the AJ-Dirk MVP era) hung with them, and now compounded with that is their former coach (and architecht of the team) is now scheming against them.

I still think it will find a way to go to 7 games... but it sure has been one helluva fun series to watch.

The Golden State Warriors are more than just a team that happens to match-up well with Dallas. They will be awesome next year assuming they can keep their players.

Looking at the other 7 west playoff teams, GS could beat 5 of those teams in a 7 game series. They would kill the Lakers and Jazz. Warriors vs Suns and Warriors vs Nuggets would be really fun to watch, but I see GS winning those series. We're already seeing what they're doing to the Mavericks.

Spurs and Rockets are the only two teams that match up well with GS.

Hypothetically, if the Jazz beat the Rockets, and the Suns/Nuggets beat the Spurs, the Warriors would go to the NBA Finals.
