    From Mark Cuban's blog http://www.blogmaverick.com/2007/04/16/tim-duncan-joe-crawford-and-the-nba/

"Iim not going to comment on what happened during our Spurs game Sunday. My feelings about the subject havent changed and its not worth the money to comment on it here. In fact, I've given up writing in this blog about the NBA because my number one rule of blogging is that if you cant offer an honest opinion, say nothing.

What I do want to say to all NBA fans is that if you are not a Mavs fan STOP EMAILING ME ABOUT THE OFFICIATING.

Email the owner of your own team. Email the commissioner of the NBA, email anybody else. Do not email me.

Everytime something questionable happens in an NBA game, my inbox gets slammed with "If you really care about the officiating you would say something", or "this is why I cant watch the NBA anymore" emails or "I'm a season ticket holder for X years and Im considering cancelling because...". Im tired of getting and reading emails that by now easily number more than 25k over the years that the management of the team you root for, or the NBA won't take.

If you were to send all those emails to your owner or GM, maybe they would be concerned with things other than where I stand on the court ."

I guess we should stuff his inbox now.

Wow I am still in disbelieve in the calls made, especially the technicals. Golden state was clearly the better team between the two, even with all the turnovers and missed shots. Dallas got really lucky with this one. I really like how close Golden state is as a team and I'm really starting to like Matt Barnes more and more. He's big enough to guard almost anybody and versatile enough to bring up the ball, very underrated guy.

And Dallas to needs to stop flopping every other play. It's only asking to get someone injured and just looks really stupid when a 230+ lb player falls to the ground when barely bumped on the chest. And when Josh Howard tried to jump over Baron Davis, he deserved the charge he got. He should have also sprained his knee on that play, stupid idiot.

    Dear Mark,

First of all I wanna let you know how much I love the Mavs!!!! I love them!!!

I have been their fans forever....since 2005 and counting.

I was at the game tonight, cheering for the Mavs and the refs.

It was such a convincing thrashing, that I had the luxury of leaving the game 5 minutes early to beat the traffic.

It was quiet clear by then that those idiot refs had finally figured out what Homecourt really means. We didnt bust our butts the entire season for nothing.

But when I got home, it hit me.

Can we count on these zebras for the entire series Mark?

    Can we??

    Please send me some reassurance.

    Zboy, MFFL.

So the Mavs won a game on their homecourt where the younger team lost composure and the refs were trying as hard as they could to have Dallas win.

Big deal. Golden State shocked them in game 1, and they're about to crush them in Oracle.

It was a sloppy game by the Warriors. Stephen Jackson should never try to cross over anyone ever again. The dude has no handles whatsoever. Turnovers killed them. On the other hand....

I was at a viewing party at my girlfriend's house and her friends are Mavericks fans. They even went to great lengths to defend the bs calls the refs were throwing out tonight. They even tried to justify Crawford throwing Duncan out when it was brought up.

Anyhow, the Mavericks had to win this game because it was theirs for the taking. The Warriors' turnovers and lack of drive overshadows what the refs did IMO.

I'm hoping the Warriors can get their head back on straight and take two in Oakland.

    Mark,

Die hard Mavs fan here. Nowitzki is the toughest mofo on the planet! No way is that guy soft!

To the point: I am concerned about the officiating. Tonight we finally had the refs call this game 'fairly'. The refs were not so good in game one, how are we supposed to win w/out any 'fair' calls? But tonight they made all the 'right' calls. With proper 'refereeing' we can win any game. When we go to Golden State I'm afraid the refs will not call those same 'fouls' like tonite. We're in big trouble and we need to make sure the refs 'officiate' game 3 like tonight. All I care about are the Mavs and 'winning'. Meaning we need more of the same 'calls' to make sure we 'win' the 'game' on Friday like we 'should'.

You're the 'man' Cuban, despite what everyone says. Thanks for all the Mavs memories.

The game was called fairly for both teams. The only reason the damn Warriors were so pissed was because finally, for the first time in 15 games, things didn't go their way. Plus, they are a bunch of thugs. In fact, I'm sure some of those BS blocking calls were offensive fouls.

I have seen a lot of over-the-back calls let go, generally when the player going over said back doesnt get the ball and then its kinda no harm, no foul.

But Dirk got away with a clear OTB while getting the ball, and scoring it.

Generally I am ok with calls being let go if they dont give the other team an advantage. A handcheck that is missed 30 feet from the basket that doesnt impede, an OTB that doesnt change who gets the rebound, a moving pick that is just a crappy pick(ineffective), etc....

whining about refs is so 2005...

I didnt see the game and I dont need a recap... it sounds like the Warriors could have and would have competed with BD and SJ in for the final quarters, but I just dont see the Warriors winning a seven game series...
