Anybody who believes Dirk is the MVP over Nash is on some pretty hardcore drugs. I wouldn't even put him over McGrady.

The best matchup was the 99 series between the Knicks and Heat. That was very good rivalry. JVG vs Riley. Ewing vs Mourning.

the warriors were ranked as a poor defensive team in the regular season, but they played some solid defense tonight (outside of the layup festival for devin harris). the reason the mavs lost is because their mvp candidate is probably the least valuable mvp candidate in the nba. dirk did nothing to help his team win, while bdiddy carried his team. i love the chemistry on that team too, bdiddy in the postgame interview was pure class and no ego, talking about his teammates. and stephen jackson pumping him up by telling him 'you did this', that is the kind of heart and chemistry that makes you fall in love with a team.

the west is just friggin' stacked. stacked. i mean dallas, pho, and SA are a damn good top 3, the rockets and jazz are pretty balanced, disciplined, and talented 4's and 5's, and then geez, denver at 6 and golden state at 8. two teams that got going about a month ago after a few trades and are now playing far better than their records indicate and might give the 1 and 3 all they can handle, if not win. and the worst of them all, the lakers, might have the best player in the game on their team, even if they're not that good overall.

would any of those 7 top teams not probably be one of the favorites to win the east?

I think the Hornets, with a healthy Tyson Chandler, could win the east. I also think the Lakers are the true #8 seed in the west... even if they have the best player in basketball.

Sigh... wish more ppl would realize that, compared to the other greats, dirk is really not that "good" compared to them. That is why nash gets my nod this year, although he would be making history with a 3-peat of the MVP.

    Dirk is up next.

I hope they don't expect him to talk much.. he just choked to death out on the court there.

The NBA should also schedule a post game interview for Mark Cuban.

you mean 2 time nba champion steve nash?

knicks/heat was always a war and super intense and, at least to me, entertaining. but those were some mediocre teams. 33 and 27 wins in 50 games, which is 54 and 45 over 82 games. this is a mavs team with 67 wins and a team that could've easily won 50+ if healthy and together all year. the warriors are definitely one of the best 8's ever.

Dirk sounds shellshocked... I almost feel sorry for him (almost).
