Remember last year the Mavs lost game 1 against the Spurs and the Suns. Game 2 will be a better indicator of where this series is going.

After hearing Josh Howard's comment on Rockets bench, I thought the Mavs bench can score more than 4 pts.

I've been saying for weeks to watch out for the Warriors. IT'S ALL ABOUT MATCHUPS. This GS win should be a shock to no one who actually knew anything about the Warriors. I had GS winning in 6. I might have actually underestimated them.

I don't remember much about that series...safe to say the Nuggets got lucky? IIRC it went to five.

The Warriors, at least after game one, look like they will blow away the Mavs. This is no 8th seed.

Both the hated Spurs and Mavs lost, meanwhile the Rockets show who the real beat team in Texas is. We drew a weak j*zz team, while SA and DAL drew 2 very dangerous explosive teams.

Looks like the Mavs are in deep $hit. 35% shooting for Dallas, everybody was terrible for them. This is a really bad matchup I guess, That huge backcourt with Baron and JRich and Jackson can really punish Terry and Harris. Don Nelson knows Avery and they have guys who can guard Dirk and Howard and Terry.

This could get interesting, if they do it, we will have to find a way to get Yao the ball....

apparently pretty well. the warriors shot 43% from the field and 33% from 3. the mavs made them pretty inefficient. and yet the mavs took more shots and more free throws and still scored 12 fewer points b/c they shot 35%. the mavs offense was horrible, there's no getting around that as the reason they lost. when you take 85 shots and 25 ft's and get 85 points against a crappy defensive team, that's where you start looking first. give GS 97 points and the mavs 85 shots and 25 ft's for the next 6 games, and the mavs probably win 4-1.

but they're not. they held gsw down.

Here's hoping GS wins...I loved watching the Warriors play tonight. B-Diddy was incredible.

It is a test on Avery Johnson's coaching skill. I think he is a bit overrated because last year, the Mavs should not lose to the Miami heats.

The way the Warriros play, they can surprise a good team in one game. However, they can not win a series playing like this. The Mavs will come back and beat GS because they are just a better team. When it's all said and done, the better team always wins in a seven game series.

This thread is almost near 500+ replies. I can't imagine after 7 games how many replies there would be.

I know MVP award is for the regular season performance BUT still..

If Dirk wins the MVP, it will be a mockery.

This guy has a hard time handling pressure.

Irregardless... its one thing to say all they have to do is hit shots... that's the only thing they needed to do against Miami as well. Its the only thing Utah needed to do last night.

Also, your stats make it even more amazing that Golden State won by 12. I could understand the anomaly (and pointing out the stats) if it was a flukeish 2 point win... what happens when GS plays the way they did when they won 6 out of 7? They win by 20?

Anyways, lets just leave the stats out of this. I'm looking more at the still persistent flopping. Dirk still looking soft. Avery changing his lineup before the game. I'll be honest, I assumed the Mavs were a 67 win team who was going to steam-roll thru the playoffs (even if they played the Rockets).

They don't look like a team on a mission... they don't have swagger. Sure, they may hit some shots and eventually win a series, but who are the Mavs fooling... they're still paper-soft, and unless Jason Terry is going to take charge again (like he did in 04, and like he almost pulled it out against Miami), they're going to be in for a world of dissapointment.
