I don't think Schobel is coming here. This seems like one of those scenarios every offseason where a guy seems like a perfect fit, but the Texans pass on him.

I think I'll actually be relieved if they don't sign Schobel. The Earth would spin off its axis if people didn't have something to b**** about with the Texans.

You mean like Roosevelt Colvin, Anthony Weaver, Ahman Green, and Eric Moulds? Those guys were all disaster from the jump. But I agree with You Rhino17 that Schobel is a different story. He still has game left, and had 10 sacks, 58 tackles 3 FF, 1 TD, 4 PD. If the Texans screw this up they truly have Down Syndrome. (No offense to people with Down Syndrome), although they might do better than Rick Smith and Bob "Moneybags" McNair. If you really want the wins Bob........Anti Up!!!!

    That tackle from St Louis.

He never had intentions of coming here though.

so he passed on the texans...not the other way around.

For whatever reason, people like to use the texans as FA guage even though they dont intend to really come here.

He used the Texans as leverage to get more $$$ from the Rams.

Seriously, I'm not trying to be the grammar police here - but that's not the proper spelling of that word.

It's actually "ante" - I'm only saying this because I have a fascination with etymology; and this particular one is something I figured out on my own using my knowledge of Spanish, and subsequently Latin languages in general...

You see, the term "ante up" comes from poker, as you surely know. It's the bet you make before the deal. The Spanish word "antes", and its Latin root "ante", literally mean "before". Pretty cool, huh? (probably not)

As it pertains to the Texans and Schobel, I would certainly hope that in the near future (if not already), Smith has indeed put in his ante in anticipation of a deal to come

I don't get why money is an issue, he isn't looking for a long term deal and wants to play here during AN UNCAPPED SEASON. I would call Bob cheap but the guy just gave a massive deal to AJ, so are the Texans playing hardball here or what?

money is always a major stumbling block. From what I've read, he wants to be here and the Texans want him. My gut says he'll sign closer to the end of camp.

hopefully that's just lip service by Texans to squeak the his price down a little... no point in coming out saying "we love schobel and will pay whatever it takes to get him!"
