I think if we have a shot at the playoffs, he will play. If not, they'll shut him down like they did Battier late last season.
Shut him down, as others have said. 1 day turns into week, 1 week turns into 2, 2 into 3, 3 into....well season's just about over by then.
Was that the first time you got it in the butt? I heard it hurts, but after a while you get used to it.
agree... 4-5 meaningless wins could cost us greatly. It could be the difference between drafting a role player and someone that turns out to be a franchise player.
The last thing they want to do is rush him back. Patterson and Hill, are learning and developing. Given that their the future at the PF position for us, I prefer Scola takes him time coming back. So P-Pat and J-Hill can get as much playing time as possible.
Haha but I got a cortisone shot one time when I rolled my ankle in a tennis tourny. I remember the doctor saying I'd feel a slight pain in my butt and if felt like he full out punched my booty when it hit ha.
Dont hurry back. We are likely to lose to the Celtics anyways. Just hold off and dont ruin Scolas career like you hurry alot of players back only to make it these injuries worse. Be smart for once and let it fully heal Rockets medical staff. Please dont do this to Scola to. I practically beg you this time.
While it is just a strain/soreness, that weakness increases the risk of further injury. I have no doubt that if given the choice, Scola would play. Also, I imagine the conversation between the training staff and Luis before the Bobcats game went a little like this: In any event, we're only two games out of the playoffs right now. Our next three games are Boston, Utah, and Golden state. If Luis is ready to play, he'll play, but if we don't win at least two out of those three games, get the man a red blazer and sit his ass down. If past (Battier last year) is prologue, this is exactly what the Rockets will do.
Uhmm I'm torn on this. At first my thinking was sit him for the season. But if the Doctors give Luis the go-ahead, then I think playing him limited minutes could work. The playoffs aren't that far off the radar. Of course the Rockets have some tough games, but they are only 2 1/2 games out of the playoffs. So, I think the Rockets should not discard their playoff hopes just yet. I don't want the Rockets to be a lottery team. Absolutely NOT!!!!
Thanks for the update. Good to hear he is practicing again. It sounds as if he still needs more time. I dont think he will make it back in the next few days. We really need him for the Boston and Miami game. But better waiting untill he is 100%.
Scola needs to rest... Patrick is doing a great job and getting some valuable OJT at the same time. If the Rockets win great... If they lose so be it... Let the youngsters play and develop. T_Man
