thank you for posting the link instead of stealing and pasting the whole article. It amazes me that people who contribute to and support a good sports site here think it is fine to steal from talented professionals at the Athletic … and that @Clutch allows it to happen. At any rate, while I am excited about the overall concepts he talks about with a free flowing offense, I do think we should expect more bumps than in a more traditional set-piece offense. There will be a large learning curve for each new player and among the various combinations of players. I really hope we see continuity and health among the young players at least so we start coming up that curve.
So many rockets players, so many who can shoot! My selection is before there are any trades etc. Bigs whp play Center and Forward:- 1 WOOD 2 SENGUN 3 THEIS 4 HART (tall) 5 GARUBA Point Guards 6 PORTER 7 CHRISTOPHER 8 AUGUSTIN 9 WALL Shooters 10 HOUSE 11 GORDON, 12 LAMB 13 THOMAS 14 GREEN 15 BROOKS 16 ANDERSON 17 NWBA 18 TATE 19 MARTIN
Brooks > Augustin I like DJ, but they should move him to a play in team to make room for Brooks who has a higher upside.
Wall/Gordon Porter/Green House/Nwaba Wood/Tate Theis/Sengun This provides cheap veteran mentorship for the two prized rookies and a clear upgrade path post allstar break: Sengun overtaking Theis and Green overtaking either House or Wall(if injury). Wall/Gordon Green/Nwaba Porter/House Wood/Tate Sengun/Theis
Wall/ KPJ/ Augustine Green/ Brooks/ Nwaba Tate/ KJ Wood/ Garuba/ House Theis/ Sengün Gordon will be traded. Just get comfortable with that.
So we have Green KP3 KMJ Sengun Theis Wood Garuba Tate House Nwaba Hurt Christopher Brook Augustin Thomas Wall Gordon of those 17, whom will be on the roster and whom will be sent to the G league? Does Hurt have a chance of making it to the opening day roster? Will Christopher or any other of the young talented players be moved to the g league? Really seems we need to get rid of one of Wall or Gordon or both.
Starting House over Green would be the dumbest thing ever. And its not just because I dont like House.. I don't. But why? why would we invest more playing time and starting to House? He is not the future. I just dont get some peoples logic behind sitting either porter or green in favor of a Harden minion who shoulda been traded last season really. If the reason is he is a veteran then so what, he doesnt have the upside that Green does and anything he gives us as a vet comes at a cost of developing a possible future star.
You’re right it would be asinine. I think there is this unspoken rule that coaches will have to defer to the veterans. Neither Wall or House should be starting, but both will. Silas won’t disappoint his boys for a rookie. Be prepared for this **** show to start the season. Wall, KPJ, House, Wood, and Theis. KPJ needs to be the starting PG period, but he won’t be. They might start Green at SF and move Tate to PF, but man that would be some absolutely horrible defense. Would like to see KPJ, Green, KJM, Tate and Wood to start, but it will never happen. A bench of Wall, Gordan, Sequin, and Theis would be incredible. I am going to be so pissed if KPJ, Green and KJM don’t get 25 mins a game. You can’t develop your youth if they are riding the bench.
Making House the starter keeps the pressure off Green early on and makes House a “starting-caliber” trade asset. I can see the logic there, but it can’t last the whole season that way. This is sidestepping the “extension talks” with House that are APPARENTLY a thing.
Yes, they have some very good writers - Kelly Iko especially. I’m well aware of their Astros sign stealing bias, but they also have very good analysis. But if you don’t like them, don’t read them. But it’s more than a bit hypocritical to say it is garbage and then either steal their content or applaud someone who does.
Steal? That’s a pretty big stretch. The fact that they charge for what they call “reporting” is a joke.
Yes, steal. It is something they produce and charge money for. It doesn’t matter whether you think it is garbage any more than it matters if you think some food in a grocery store tastes bad or is bad for society. If you take it and/or give it to others without paying, that is IP theft. This is a simple fact - not a debatable point or a “stretch.”
Of course. I also know capitalism breeds work arounds to get what you want. Take the good with the bad. It’s the same with the music industry, or have you never listened to song that you didn’t pay for?
