Agreed. What sucks is that when Tate returns, we have a lot of guys who deserve minutes at the 3/4 spots. I feel like KJ's been underrated here for the past year, but that doesn't mean he's a great fit on our roster -- he definitely fits better on playoff team with an established scheme (playing off a star creator). As a 21 year old who could give a good team valuable rotation minutes, he should warrant at least a late-1st on the market. Eason's PT needs to get prioritized regardless though. No reason for him to be playing just 15min, even if we have Tate healthy. Bigs: Sengun, Fernando, Boban, Garuba | Situational: Jabari Forwards: Jabari, Eason, Tate, KJ | Situational: Garuba? Wings: Green, EG, Matthews | Situational: Christopher, KJ Guards: KPJ, Christopher, TyTy, Nix | Situational: Green We're clearly deepest at the Forward spot, with 4 rotation worthy guys.
What is his role and position exactly? Tweener 3 with hops and average defense? To succeed in the NBA you need to do one thing amazingly at the minimum and KJ doesn't do anything amazingly. If he were cut tomorrow what would his role be on another team?
It's not 1994. Tweener 3 isn't actually a thing that anybody cares about. Can a guy defend on the perimeter to the point where he's not a weakness? Can he hit wide open 3s? Does he add anything else (shot blocking, finishing, eg) as a bonus? If the answer to both is yes you have a 10+ year nba career.
I'm sure this has been talked about a ton but these things are insane to me. JG only being on the floor with KPJ. Bari and Tari getting 0 minutes together. KMJ and Tari coming in before Alpi. KMJ and Tari getting that many minuts together. Gary getting any minutes at all. And on and on. Personally, i would have KMJ start and EG come off the bench. Starters: KPJ, JG, KMJ, Bari, Bruno Bench: EG, Jaygup, Tate, Tari, Alpi Thats it.
