I agree, ZRB, they should have played way better defense in the 4th qtr. Also, in the third OT, they had 2 24-second violations. Totally unacceptable. Oh, and another thing.... ROCKETS, HIT YOUR FREE THROWS, PLEASE!!
I finally got to test the slo mo on my new tivo. Rose's feet didn't even leave the air until the clock ran out. The Rockets (and the Bulls for that matter) worked too hard to let it end like that :-( --Deji
OMG, okay but what about ALL the times that Mobley was hacked? Both on the drive and on the shot!!!!!!!!!! Now that was the most BS thing from the officials!
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/basketball/nba/recaps/2002/03/16/hou_chi/ Even CNN noted that the shot was after the buzzer...though they had to get the foul dig in there too. You don't call a foul on the last play unless a guy is losing some blood. DaDakota
Same thing here. First time I watched a Rocks game since moving to Chicago. KT looked great, Cato looked way thinner and was scaring Tyson, Cat was doing good (and jacking like always), and Moochie was....well.....Moochie. Anyways, I watched the first, then half of the second quarter and then stayed away because Rocks went up and stayed up, then I tuned in near the end of the 4th when I went to espn.com and it told me that there were 4 seconds left on the clock and Houston had the lead. I was surprised as hell when Rose hit that shot to send it into OT and then double surprised when he hit the winner in OT2. I was then given a shock again as I saw the replay and saw the ball in Rose's hand with the clock on 0:00 and told my dad, who was watching the game with me, I wondered why the Rocks didn't challenge that. If they would've they could've gone into 3rd OT and it would've went on, but they just walked off the court. Maybe they didn't notice it......or maybe they were just too tired of this ish and of Rose. Either way, good game for both teams, and now the big question.....who was I rooting for? Well, I was rooting for the Rockets but I couldn't hate on the Bulls either so I'm glad one of the teams won and it was such a close game and no fights erupted. Oh yeah by the way, tonight Rose lead the Bulls in points, assists, and rebounds. Damn I'm glad we got him in that trade.
Hey Come on, Its the best of both worlds, We technically don't lose the game, but we get more lottery balls
I was a few feet away from the Refs that shot was late BUT Refs were tired an when they sorta grouped up one of the refs was over heard saying screw it basket counts, Rudy did not even question the call which suprised and shocked everyone who was left in the Arena. Clearly the Nba needs to investigate this matter atleast bring 1 instant replay call on questionable calls like this. Refs should be fined as well for making crucial mistakes. Anyone remember last year around this time we played the Pacers in 3 overtimes and walked away with the victory. And just for history sake Jalen Rose and Travis best were on that team. I really felt sorry for Steve he was in a lot of pain and very nauseated leaning by the players entrance. Get well Steve
okay, so it's crappy and resized and blurry, but it shows you that it was after the buzzer. thank you very much.
my signature says it all (i think) RT made his point to the players (perserverance), we improve our lotto position, CHI's gets worse (why we didn't complain), and we claim the moral high ground...
This is exactly the type of game we need. Playing time for everyone, minutes for the Rookies, game-time experience..Improved draft position. Next time, we'll learn to play better D.
It was a bad call no doubt, but what about the other 15 he made. Doesn't it seems like everyone put up season highs or career highs against the Rockets?
My thoughts exactly, moe its win/win, we "win" in the real sense, a worse team wins so we win in the lotto sense AND we keep a perfect bobblehead record
I said it in chat, It's creative tanking. Fizer was in on it. Cartwright was in on it. The refs were also in on it. No one can lose in cooler ways than the Rockets. A shot in 3OT made in 2OT is a pretty creative way to lose if you ask me. Our draft slot is pretty solidified between 6-8. If we're going to win this battle with NY and ATL, we've got to be tough and creative.
To agree with the above and add one more point: 1. The no-whistle was a trade-off for not calling a foul. We've all seen this kind of thing: You knock the other guy out of bounds, you have 5 fouls, the ref doesn't want to call you out, so he says the ball went off you when in fact it clearly went off the other guy. 2. Agree with Clutch et al. Great game, plus the L. Who says you can't have it all? 3. Under a secret NBA rule, no one is allowed to play 3OT games against the same team in two consecutive years. (Only heypee and the pope know this one.) Hence the Rose buzzer-follower.
Nice job man. I hope you don't mind, but I posted it on bulls4ever.com's bbs forum, because they were claiming that Rose got fouled before the buzzer.
