Man! When things go bad they REALLY go bad. Well, it could have been much worse - they could have traded for Jake Plummer...

Ok. I kinda get that some people feel that way. See every other thread in this forum not related to Astros.

At least we're not talking about Bush. When the VYOFs can find a Titans board, I'll be happy.

    :D

i'm not a VYOF. i'm a very frustrated Texan fan. i can't believe we valued david carr so highly so many times at that cost. not just cost in financial terms but in other opportunities we could have pursued. VY or otherwise.

if we end up dumping carr...and cutler, leinart and VY go on to be legit starters....wow. that's just a lot of opportunity lost in my view.

Why so if the guy you took becomes a legit starter (which he already is)? Defense is just as important as offense when it comes to winning football games.

Should the Ravens have parted ways with Ray Lewis in order to sign a more talented QB than Dilfer before the 2000 season? Should the Bucs have parted ways with Derrick Brooks or Ronde Barber before the 2002 season in order to sign a more talented QB than Brad Johnson?

I dunno. A one-handed Rosenfels might still be better than Carr. :D

because i value a franchise QB over a legit defensive lineman. i think at least one of the guys we passed on will be a franchise QB.

we're nowhere near the same position the ravens or bucs were in.

That's about what any QB who plays for this team would be exposed to... a blind-side defender that's about to nail the QB because he blew by our crippled o-line.

There's talk that when Spencer comes back, he'll move over to RT, they'll move Winston to guard, and they're going to look for a proven/productive LT.

    Sage said he could play
    but
The Team said he had to goto IR

    I smell a conspiracy!!!
Basically. . . Tired of people Calling for Carr to be benched and Sage to play
Kubes decided a 'Phantom Injury' to sage would alleviate both his problems
    now
He can Play Carr no matter how Horrible
and Sage doesn't ghet his ONE SHOT . .to make Carr look bad

    Rocket River
    . . .. Conspiracy hat off

Put Mario Williams at QB to silence the VY hype. I'm sure he could do better than Carr.

the wouldas, couldas, shouldas haunt every draft. you could play this game ad infinitum with every team in every sport.

for instance, had they done what i initially wanted, which was draft julius peppers, they could have then (possibly) snagged carson palmer the following year... but like i said, you could do this until the cows come home. drafting with the aid of hindsight is soooooooooo much easier.

I agree with your take. However, the guys clamoring Vince's side will correctly point out that they were clamoring for him equally as loud before the draft, and as such now feel vindicated. IOW, they feel they had foresight on this deal.

Yesterday, I was more concerned about Flanagan's injury than Sage's.

Then, I remembered that Flanagan sucks.

The difference is that the fans were pretty strongly for one of two players (Bush or Vince). If McNabb had sucked and Ricky Williams had gone on to be a superstar, Philly fans would not let their management forget that either. This is the risk a franchise takes when they pick someone very different than the fans want. Nothing wrong with that - but it is a PR risk. This is nowhere near similar to randomly looking after the fact at who the best players were and wishing you had picked them.
