i don't know why your guys argue about the face guarding rule in nba.

here is the definition from nba official rule book:

Eye guarding (placing a hand in front of the opponent’s eyes when guarding from the rear) a player who does not have possession of the ball is illegal and an unsportsmanlike technical shall be assessed.

i hope it will stop the arguement.

rosen knows nothing except putting some words together.

Its nothing illegeal about the way shane plays defense. The really good defenders do the same thing and it is legal. That's why the truly elite players are elite. Even under great defenses, they hit shots anyway. This isn't football where the receiver is trying to locate the ball. The offensive player already has it and is trying to score. Maybe Rosen need to go look at the 80's Pistons vs Jorday. The only way jordan could even be slightly guarded by Joe D was interupting his vision by faceguarding.

I didn't buy it when I read some folks said the sports media hates the Rockets before. But I am being slowly converted to be a believer. I have the feeling that they are so sore about our winning streak that they have to make up whatever excuse that they can think of to diss us. Illegal face guarding??? Give me a freaking break please. What's your problem with the Rockets, Mr. Rosen???

and you think the Lakers forum dont have a lot of stupid posters too o_O? You can see how many posters are blinded by Kobeluv. Every teams forum is pretty similar I think except the losing ones because they can only be humble since their team sucks. Well probably.

Whos that guy derekishere? Whats the point of posting Rocket articles there? Do you want the Lakers fan to validate your team is good or something?

I think Kobe would get more calls if he would just stop flailing his arms and mad dog the referees after every play. He gets fouled sometimes and its not called but he also shoots a ton of free throws. I dont think Kobe is hated. Ive seen him get MVP chants in a couple of arenas and they were pretty loud.

What Battier did was nothing more than what most of us were taught in YMCA basketball. However, there's a reason most professionals don't use the tactic to the extent that was seen in last Sunday's game. In the NBA, it's too easy to pump fake the defender and then bring your arms up in the shooting motion and get raked across the arms for a foul.

Those banners "Kobe for NY governor" definitely hurt. I dont think it is the right thing to do to a human being as much as I dont like him as a player.

they teach you to put a hand in the shooters face from highschool all the way to college. so this guy needs to get off kobe's d!ck before kobe gets another rape charge aganist him oops this wouldn't be rape because it is consensual. so just use a rubber kobe well this guy will not end up pregnant with your kid, don't want your wife needing a new ring again

Kobe Bryant had a hand so close in Mcgrady's face on a jumper in the 4th quarter that his hands came down across Mcgrady's face raking him across the eyes. I don't understand what Rosen's b****ing about here. This cat is a douchebag, right up there on the Mark Cuban level.

I was always taught that as the player begins his shooting motion to get a hand in their face. Don't think they would teach that to high schoolers if it were illegal.

This hatred for the rockets streak is really getting ridiculous!! I mean, this is really unfortunate for the NBA if you ask me. A team has done, and continues to do what no other team has done in over 30years, owning the 2nd best streak in history and all we get each night from Sport Writers across the nation is Hate, Disrespect and dishonest claims that we have not beat anyone yet thats a serious contender; somehow one of their star players are out each time we play them.

I think this is really getting out of hand and something needs to be done. I know Coach RA was really upset the day after we beat the lakers, saying there are some many sports writers, analysts in the country now that it was 10 years ago, and they have to keep talking to keep their jobs. The problem is more than 2/3rd s really are clueless about the sport they profess to be experts in. If they were, they would understand that Team Ball always beats individual talent.

Battier's excellent defense was shown on ABC over and over again as JVG commented, Phil did not complain, Kobe certainly did not complain. When Battier had to block a shot, he did as well on Kobe. Kobe is no doubt the best player in this league, but to have a Battier be called a "Cheater" for planning amazing defense on the best player in the league is uncalled for. This guy is the ultimate professional and would not even dare to do anything that would be remotely close to being called a "cheat" or "Dirty".

Jon Barry on ABC said last Sunday that he does not see the Rockets going far in the playoffs, but they will beat the lakers on sunday. How messed up is that? Last thurdays on TNT, nothing was mentioned about the Rockets streak, as it stood at 20. I mean we lost Yao, no one gave us a chance, and we are still playing well, yet all we get is this? It is totally wrong, I think Rockets fans will not forget this type of hatred for a while to come.

No matter when the streak ends, the rockets have done something we may never witness again in the next 30years (unless they repeat). They have made history, and we as houstonians and rockets fans are proud of them even if the nation is not.

Give Kobe the MVP, give Boston the Championship, Give Spurs the Best Defensive team in the league, Give Camby the Best shot blocker in the league, give Kevin Durant Rookie of the year, and Chris Paul the best point guard in the league. We all know deep down in our hearts who the really winners are this season of all these titles. THE ROCKETS TEAM!!!

For one more day at least, lets shut out the likes of Barkley,Rosen and friends and enjoy the moment!!!!

GO ROCKETS!!!! WE ARE PROUD OF YOU!!!

rosen is clearly delusional.. as well as a hater... as long as the defender's not physically touching the shooter it should be okay...
