Rose won the MVP for his play in the regular season. The regular season which oftentimes reduced the Heat to tears. Rose was the superstar on a team no one expected to end up #1.

There's another MVP given for the finals--that's the one Lebron and Wade can win. No way Lebron is MVP of reg season when he was not playing at his best consistently.

Also, Rose is just 3 years in the league while Lebron and Wade are 8 year veterans. Wait for Rose, Durant, Westbrook to start challenging these stars a couple of years down the road.

Rose sucks. His play is absolutely awful during the entire playoffs. I would not want him on the Rockets ever. And he should never ever make Team USA again, if they want to win another medal.

The hype machine played up the angle that he was the best player, on the team with a constantly changing lineup due to injuries to key players, who led his team to the best record. I don't think there's anything wrong with that argument for MVP.

Compare Derick Rose to Chris Paul in the playoffs is like watching Chris Bosh fight Dennis Rodman. Not even close...

the mvp is for the clear team leader of the team with the best record, this has pretty much been the case for years.

You're not even serious right now.

Derrick Rose sucks? That is just insane for a basketball fan to say.

He sucked during the playoffs? Seriously one mediocre series equals sucking? What about the other series where his play led his team to winning the game, in fact if Rose does not have a good game his team is in trouble against the Pacers.

If you take Rose off that team they are not even a playoff team, I hope you realize that.

All you Rose haters are going to look so dumb when this 22 year old finish taking his lumps in the playoffs. All of the great players had to go through this before they got legitimate help.

Dirk is soft. Jordan/Kobe are ballhogs and don't play the right way. Nash plays no defense.

That's why it's the NBA playoffs where even for a series great players can be exposed. Lets not forget it was just last year where everyone questioned if Lebron quit on his team and a few years ago when the Spurs embarrassed his team. Every great player takes their bumps and bruises.

Also not like Rose CAN'T perform in the playoffs, it was really only one series where he played bad, what about the previous series where it was up to him to finish teams off or help lead the comeback? What about the Celtics series earlier in his career where he and Ben Gordon were the reasons they took the Cs to 7 game in one of the best first round series ever?

Anyone saying Rose sucks and is not a good player...something is wrong there.

Any ways MVP is a regular season award and there were numerous times where Rose made big plays. Rocket fans should know that because he was responsible for beating the Rockets both times. We were one of the first teams to witness that Rose had a much improved 3 point shot..

    This thread needs to burn.

Rose is one of the best players in the NBA, easily.

Chicago won 62 games and got to the Eastern Conference Finals, primarily because of . . . Mr. Rose. They had good team defense, adequate bigs, and good team play, but this team would have struggled to win 40 games without #1. Their second best scorer, Carlos Boozer was only averaging 11 points up until conference finals.

He's their best scorer, their best passer, and runs the entire offense.

This is only his what 3rd season, and he's already got his team the best record in the NBA and to a conference championship series.

Name one point guard in the league, who would've gotten the Bulls past Heat.

Was anyone expecting the Bulls to win? And if so, did you expect Derrick Rose to play at his best? They are facing the Miami Heat not the Minnesota T'Wolves. It's a discredit to Miami to expect Rose to play MVP level against them. And it's a discredit to Rose calling him a one-hit wonder just because he had a bad playoff stretch.

They had GREAT team defense and an average offence.

Put CP3 on the Bulls and I honestly think the Bulls win.

People hate a lot on Boozer but his numbers were better because he played with Deron Williams, a gifted passing point guard.

Derrick Rose just easily had one of the single worst playoffs I have ever seen any player have.

Looks like you don't watch many NBA playoff games then. It's that simple. He had a couple bad games in one series and now he sucks?

Clearly Rose does not "suck"... but lets be honest, he didn't have a "mediocre" series, he was TERRIBLE.

No Boozer had a terrible series. Rose was the only guy the Heat had to worry about after game one.

Uhh... I don't know what series you watched, but Rose was terrible against the Heat...

He shot under 20% in the 4th quarter.... he had crucial turnovers in crunch time in games 4 and 5.... he missed key free throws at the end of games 4 and 5... and he shot 35% from the floor for the series... he was TERRIBLE and may very poor decisions at the end of games 4 and 5... if you don't think Rose was terrible in the series, then I don't know what to tell you.... it is foolish to say Rose "sucks", but almost as foolish to claim Rose was mediocre against the Heat.

    Every time FG%....

That is all you are looking at is shooting from the floor when Rose is much more than a shooter and scorer.

If Rose was terrible they would have been blown out and swept. Being terrible means the Bulls would have done much better playing CJ Miles over playing Rose, when Rose was a large part they were even in those games.

You know who had a terrible series though? Carlos Boozer. A lot of Bulls fans actually thought that they should have played Gibson and Asik a lot more than Boozer.

You either don't watch those games or you don;t know anything about basketball. All he did the entire playoffs was ball hog, chuck up wild shots, shoot over and over and at awful percentages, and turn the ball over like crazy.

It's hilarious that such a mediocre player would be named NBA MVP.
