Good to see Patterson start to get the recognition he deserves!

However the funny thing is had Patterson just been an inch taller(6'10), every GM would have all over him in the draft!

Not true. 07 and 08 were pretty hyped up as good drafts. 07 turned out pretty decent and 08 is the best draft that decade besides 03.

I don't know how Cousins is anything past 2. I would probably trade ANY draft pick this season for him. I just don't see the same all-around, center-of-the-offense type potential in Monroe and Favors.

Reason Cousins slipped to 4 is simple, attitude. The guy is a headache and ,for some, a ticking time bomb. Monroe and Favors are nice guys who are developing and coachable which is why they are as high. Saying all that, I'd take Cousins #1, Wall has already had some minor knee issues and after Brandon Roy's setbacks, I'd be scared. Cousins, if he stays on the right path...big if, will be a monster for years to come.

Morey said right after the draft that Patterson was raited 6th highest overall on thier draft board. He also said they were lucky he was available at #14. Go figure!

Nice. LoL. I just figured CXBbby was being serious. Post for post, he doesn't seem to be a Morey guy.

Cousins has shown some flashes of brilliance, but for every game where he plays like 2Pat on a good day, there are two games where he plays like T-Will on a bad day. Cousins does have that "no deference" star quality that you don't see in Favors and Monroe, but when his basketball judgement is as poor as it is, it's more of a detriment than an asset.

    i'll say this
Greg monroe needs to get out of Detroit. He's better with a different team than Pistons.

He's getting double-double left and right now that his minutes increased.

Actually, IIRC, CXBbby is a fairly staunch Morey advocate. He's just taken to making a bunch of sarcastic posts about Morey lately. I figured that those were all done in jest and to mock those who unfairly criticize Morey.

But maybe I'm wrong about that.

    Hooray for Moreys talent evaluation.

I can't wait to see what he does this year.

Alot of people call this a weak draft because there is no clear cut #1 franchise player out there, but this could work to our advantage in the late lottery.

Need to trade Scola and either CBud or TWill in the offseason for a good SF. Then we can start 2Pat and resign Hayes to be the backup PF.

I'm semi-interested in this. I would have been all for it if the SF was Melo. I have one question about Patterson's game right now, and that is what can he do when we drop the ball to him in the post? We need some sort of post game if we trade Scola because Scola is our only offenisve threat in the post. Can Patterson drop in there when the defense overplays the perimeter, catch the ball, make a move, and score with it efficiently? If he can, then I am on board that we should pursue trades for Scola that will bring us a big fish.

He should be able to man handle lesser talent/ smaller players at the 4. Me on the other hand, i wish the rockets would add more pick and roll plays for patterson to boost up his confidence even more, eventually he will develop and refine good post moves.

More times than not, Morey gets it right in the draft.

Yep, his postgame is pretty much a work in progress right now. He has shown flashes but other times he has looked awkward. I would say this is one of the few things where Jordan Hill is ahead of him, I'm not betting on that staying the same next year.

well thats what happens when you get drafted in the lottery...You get to go to a crappy team and produce great numbers.
