NBA.com has Wagner #1 right now, with Mobley and Barnes as 2 and 3. Barnes has fallen off a bit, which is unfortunate. If the Cavs are at .500 or above it by season's end, I think Mobley is the obvious choice. If not, the race gets harder to predict. I think voters will point to how Green wasn't very good to start the season, and then he got hurt. He's been playing well lately, but it might be too easy to argue against Green and for others, than for Green and against others.
Is this a really good rookie class or was I just not following rookies too much in the past? With Mobley, Barnes, Wagner, Giddy, Cunningham and Green, the ROTY race seems to be wide open - and those aren‘t the only rookies that are making their teams happy. But those 6 all could become very special and have all already done remarkable things. I mean outside of the Luka, Young, Ayton year, when was the last time of so many rookies really delivering? As for if Green can win ROTY - sure he can, but he probably won‘t. I guess he will end up with 20ppg and about 3 apgs and 3 rpgs. Mobleys PPGs will probably be lower, but he fills out the stat sheet a lot more and is a big plus on defense on a team, that will probably make the playoffs. And the other guys on the list also seem to have a more complete game. But I fully expect Green to lead all rookies in scoring and get his percentages up.
