One man can only do so much, it's a team game, TEAAAM game. Yao is not gonna on the court for 45min , when he's out Ron needs to get his teammate more involve period.
Damn, his true DEFENSIVE potential. He has walked behind in RS. PD: Please, active the option to edit posts NOW, it's absurd you can't edit a post.
I arrived in Houston the day before Game 3 in 2007, I will never forget Clade's voice- both teams are ice cold. And I attended the first game of those 22, against the Warriors, in the final minutes Yao missed a free throw, the guy behind me shouted "Yao, hit those free throw, as you always did!" I knida know what it is like in the playoffs, and I hope: Yao, stand up, carry the team and be our pride, as you always did this year. And for Ron, I thought we are blessed to have him here, and I still believe, He is the one making playoffs what it is like, so is Shane Shane missed a lot, also did a lot in previous series, Time to gear up, guys.
I want to say that for a while. Ron is really making many fans uneasy when he is holding the ball, dribbling, dribbling, then taking a stupid jump or committing a TO. Whatever, I do not feel safe when he is holding a ball, that is too bad because I though he was smart player than Rafer, but he is quite bad on the decision making.
It's times like this when I really miss Mcgrady. Call him this say he doesn't do that but when the Playoffs roll around you know what your gonna get and that's an amazing (individual) performance.
Yao kicks the ball out in order to get a better position, but our guards just don't return the ball to him. He has to yell and ask for the ball.
I agree. It's on Yao. If the other team can find a way to match Yao's production by taking him out of his game then we are doomed regardless of what Artest does...but i don't see that happening.
Attending last nights game, I was glad to see Rick sit Ron down for an extended period after he started the game poorly. As is being discussed in this thread, Ron has a tendency to force shots and not allow the game to come to him at times. Rick did not put him back in until I believe 4 minutes was left in the 2nd Q. Rick's greatest strength (supposedly) is creating a culture where players can excel and I'm sure if we all see Ron's tendencies to force the issue, the coaching staff sees them as well. We have to have a little faith in our coaches to coach him out of this habit, yet not take away from his strengths. Here we are 1 win away from the division title in the hardest division in the entire League. All things considered, this staff has done a hell of a job this year.
Yeah, I corrected that later in the thread. We'll be lucky if Brent Barry's play amounts to anything though.
Yeah. And what's more, looking at the stats from two most recent trips to the postseason, there's actually evidence he becomes more of a chucker in the playoffs. In 2003-2004 with the Pacers his FG attempts per game increased from 15.2 to 17.3, and his 3P attempts increased from 3.3 to 4.4. In 2005-2006 with the Kings his FG attempts per game increased from 15.5 to 16.2, and his 3P attempts increased from 4.5 to 5.4. So there's that.
Hopefully Yao's shot attempts are the only ones going up. Its a shame the most efficient and dominate offensive center in the league averages what, 13-15 shots a game?
If your analogy is correct, I am looking forward to Ron Ron's playoff performance. Just take a look at Rafer's stats. Regular Season Year MIN FG% 3PT% FT OFF REB TOT REB AST STL BLK TO PF PTS 07-08 34.1 .394 .351 .715 0.4 3.5 5.3 1.3 0.2 2.16 1.90 13.1 Playoffs Year MIN FG% 3PT% FT OFF REB TOT REB AST STL BLK TO PF PTS 07-08 31.5 .438 .440 .800 0.5 1.5 4.5 1.0 0.0 1.50 1.80 14.3
Yeah, that's a 4-game sample for last season's playoff series. His numbers dipped in the postseason in 2006-2007, and he actually played all 7 games that year.
Oh wise master from the mountains, praise thee for showering us with thy wisdom. To whom, what e-mail address, shall I send the paypal payment to?
We would be a lot more successful as a team if Ron didn't look for his own shot, but let others find his shot for him. His constant over-dribbling stagnates the offense and gives him a low percentage shot.
