I like Rondo cause we need guys who wont be scared in the playoffs but Parsons makes this offense more of a problem for other teams to stop

I've been crying for a PG upgrade for months. Hell, look at my signature.

That said, NO. Rondo hasn't looked good since coming back from injury and his contract is up after next year. Parsons is too valuable to sacrifice keeping those two factors in mind.

    Now...

If we're talking the 2014 first rounder + Lin + sweeteners, different story.

Parsons means too much to this team and it would be hard seeing another home grown talent go to another team e.g. Lowry and Dragic.

With that said, I voted for Rondo. I just love watching the way this guy plays.

Short and can't shoot? Yeah let's get into the finals and think oh man, if only our PG could have made some shots...

Why put a none shooting PG with a big man who relies on a spread floor. Let's just make it that much easier to double team and triple team dwight.

Rondo is probably a better overall player, but Parsons is one of the four guys I wouldn't give up for Rondo (the others being James, Dwight and TJone).

If we got Rondo for the stretch run, we would finally have some kind of set offense where Rondo would be floor general and IMO, make Harden MORE effective on offense.

I must agree with that statement, if we had Rondo (and ideally, NOT giving up Parsons to get Rondo) would possibly put us over the top, including against OKC in a series.

I chose Rondo b/c of how you phrased "CP too dreamy to give up"

So sick of all the bromance surrounding CP. Keep it on the down low:rolleyes:

You keep the core together for longer than 3 months before you break it up.

I like Rondo. He's a triple double threat every night.

    Ain't giving up Parsons though.

Rondo would be a nice addition but Parsons is too valuable to us.

Parsons is too much to ask for Rondo at this point. Had they traded Rondo after the traded the rest of his team/coach it would be a different story but his trade value has been damaged by injury and his place on a team that has more to gain from Rondo's struggles than his successes. We just don't know if he can again become that bulldog who fearlessly guarded ANYONE and led his team with gutsy performances. I think it's absolutely a risk the Rockets should take, but not for Parsons or Harden or Dwight, or TJones....but pretty much anyone else is fair game although I would love to see Lin & Rondo sharing the point according the matchup/gameflow.

I love our chemistry right now, and I see no reason to mess with it at this point in time.

This has been talked about to death, but with Rondo, I'm worried about fit more than anything. We need better shooters, not worse.

Kyle Korver would help this team more than Rondo can at this point.

I think this is similar to the discussion of whether we should re-sign Parsons soon as an RFA, or exercise his option for now and try to get him as an unrestricted FA later. If we traded Parsons for Rondo now, we would have only trades and MLEs to fill the roster going forward, but we can start right away this summer. If we keep Parsons, we can use cap space in the 2015 offseason to add an FA of Rondo's caliber (maybe Rondo, since he'll be an FA then) AND Parsons, but we would have to mostly sit out in 2014. I don't see that it's worth it to trade a big asset like Parsons to get a player we can get without a trade just one year later. I don't want to give up Parsons just so we can have Rondo (or equivalent) one year sooner.

Trading CP for Rondo isn't necessary. I don't believe Rondo has any intention of staying to rebuild in Boston, and the Celtics brass knows it. If you can't land Rondo before the deadline, give it another go next year or just wait until he hits free agency.

Parsons hasn't hit his ceiling yet I'd say he is 85% of where he will peak. You lose him you better be getting a really good SF for Asik or Lin. Parsons isn't going anywhere unless Love is coming here. Morey is to smart for that. ;)
