Rudy Gay has been leaning on friends within the NBA to help him get through recent trade speculation, and Rajon Rondo is one player he has relied on. Still, Rondo has said in their conversations that he'd like to see Gay on the Boston Celtics. “It’s hard to talk to [Rondo] because he is always saying, ‘We need you over here. We need you over here,’” Gay said. “So it’s not easy talking to him. But he’s being a friend, just telling me about keeping everything together and he makes you feel like you are still valuable.” http://sports.yahoo.com/news/despit...-on-memphis-grizzlies--success-225823922.html
Only shot Gay has of overcoming mediocrity is someone like Rondo feeding him easy transition baskets every night.
Well when teammates are friends they are more effective... So if they actually dated each other did other stuff who knows the possibilities...
I actually think this would be a good move for the Celts. Gay could be Boston's poor man's Melo at that stretch 4 position. I don't know how many of you have seen Gay up close but the guy should have no problems holding his own with today's soft PF's.
I'm waiting. Now that I think about it, I think all my signature quotes have been by Carl, haha.
The Celtics are one of the few teams that Gay could go to and actually improved the quality of team. Having other pieces in place with a top-notch point guard who can pass him the rock. Problem is Boston doesn't have the pieces to trade for Gay.
Actually makes some sense for both teams, so long as Memphis gets to shed salary and Boston is willing to take some on.
Rudy could play the stretch 4 role in Boston very well. It's the kind of mix up they need to get going. It would at the very least update their archaic playbook.
