Dude... Really? This is from when? 5 years ago? I'm pretty sure I post as much as you do drunk these days.
so, you're telling the board that you were sober last night and/or the night you had your pre-teen facebook hissy fit with batman? or the night you decided it was somehow thread-worthy to post that you called a little girl by a different name? anyway, maybe look in the mirror instead of lashing out at everyone else, that's all i'm saying. back to the circle jerk.
I would like to formally request yall drop this derailment. and FFB, this forum isnt going anywhere, you dont like it, quit coming in....its that simple.
Perhaps I'm going about it the wrong way. Perhaps I'll just report the folks that attack personally on here. I've never been a fan of it, but the trolling on every freaking comment I make these days warrants it.
Yeah, classy response. In fact I'd like to see what would happen to D&D if one or the other party quits posting for a week. Maybe then D&D would have some threads that actually stays on topic and is worthy of reading all the responses. This forum would be worthless actually. Because it would concede to a one party system which we ALL KNOW would NEVER work. Ohhhhhhhhhh nevermind....I give up. edit: sorry Rockets2K. I'm out.
I think Ronald Reagan was unquestionably the best B-movie actor sidelining as a president this country has ever elected. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/bc4LvadyXCc&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/bc4LvadyXCc&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
You're solidly moderate, in my opinion, which is where (I'd guess) you probably see yourself. Might lean left on some issues and right on others, with the balance being in the "middle." (I'm assuming a middle exists! )
Coming late to this thread. I think Reagan was over-rated but to a certain extent all Presidents are over-rated or under-rated. I don't think though that he was a bad president and with hindsight I think in many ways he was the right person to be President during that time. I was a teen in the 80's and then I loathed him and thought he was terrible but with the perspective of history I think in general his call for deregulation and lower taxes was needed to shake our economy out of Stagflation. While the Soviet Union was weak and would've eventually fallen I will give Reagan credit for pushing it over but also recognizing that Gorbachev was a different type of Soviet leader and working with him to bring the Cold War to a peaceful end. One incident that really changed my view of Reagan was the Rejkyavik summit when he offered a complete nuclear disarmament. At the time this appalled many in even his own Admin. but it showed that for all of his bluster he wasn't the warmonger that many people thought him to be. In addition to his policies Reagan was very important towards using the bully pulpit of the Presidency to improve the morale of the country. THis is one of the most important aspects of the Presidency and the own the only one that the Predsident can solely control. Reagan used that power masterfully to lift the country from the malaise that mired the country at the time to a belief in a better tomorrow. That was no small feat and one that Obama is trying to duplicate now. There is obviously a lot that I still don't agree with what Reagan did but overall I think he was good for the country.
Also Fatty I think you are taking all of this way too personally. While you might think this is a liberal circle jerk there is a lot of disagreement among those you consider liberals. For example while you probably consider myself, Deckard and Batman Jones liberals we have some big differences in views and have had our own heated disagreements. That doesn't stop any of us from posting and I think we can have our disagreements while still getting along. I would say it is even better that we don't all think alike as this would be very boring if everyone did. You've taken a lot of grief, not all of it deserved, but just getting huffy about it and whining that the forum should be taken down because people aren't nicer to you isn't going to change things. Sorry R2K for prolonging the derail but coming in late I wanted to weigh in.
Pretty much And Clutch, your free to tell me what he did accomplish that made him such a great president. I'm not inflexible and if you make good points with tangible facts I won't just ignore the facts and hate on the man. Conservites worship the man, but ignore the fact that he destroyed the Urban community, deregulated everything he possible could which is hurting us right now, took credit for events that wasn't really the result of anything he did, support Apartheid in South Africa ,aided terrorist and pretty much helped create this problem we are having now with terrorist. IMO instead of blaming Clinton for September 11, which is just asinine, why don't they go to the root of the problem and blame Ronald Reagan?
