I have a hard time believing he's that tall, but in any case that's only an inch taller than Steve Francis.
He is not starting caliber SG. And I'd like to use Head as our SG coming off the bench. He is too short to play backup SF for us either. So the answer is NO.
I say we pick him up if we can't get better talent. We do need talent all around and its just one more piece for us to utilize. Whether or not we keep him, we need to add talent period. I think if we could pick up murray and then possibly deal him or he kinda works out with JVG coaching, it'll be a good move. Bottomline, we need talent in the worst way possible. We don't have any 6th, 7th and 8th man. Possibly a 6th in luther, but we don't even have a consistent 3rd player in our starting line up.
He is a Ray Allen style player, actually he was under the shadow of Ray. Good ball-controller, Good outside shooter, Can beat the basket. Not a basket-maker, bad defense. He is a 3M/yr guy, but he rejected 4M/yr offer from Sonics last year. How can we get him?
Murray is not a high percentage shooter, can't hit the three and doesn't play good defense. He's the kind of player who is a decent option off of the bench that would be an extremely weak starter.
Here's a list of Free Agents. http://www.insidehoops.com/free-agency.shtml There are a lot of guys on here that catch my eye. Matt Harpring might be available because he has been declining. Cato played well under JVG. Sam Cassell, Jason Terry to name a couple more. Al Harrington would be a big one to land. He seems to be coming into his own. A lot of these can't happen or won't, but you never know who we might land. Very few free agents shoot the 3 well, but the whole NBA shoots poorly.
