Damnit, every solid / good team is making moves to assure themselves of a spot in the playoffs and go far as they can go. The Rockets need to make a move soon to keep up because i'm afraid we're not going to make it if we keep the squad as it is. If the Nuggets get Artest they're definetly going to the playoffs and maybe take the Rockets' spot. We should try to get Artest before the Nuggets or any other team does.
UH? LOSING NOVAK? NOOOOOOOOO WAY adding JR would be more reasonable, at least we have to get something back for our future
It amazing that this thread isnt about basketball but about characterizing the nuggets as "thugs" and "hoodlums" But hey why am I even surprised
Nene is definitely not ideal but can understand why. 1st off I doubt any team is confident they can resign Artest meaning he is devalued as a possible 1yr stint type guy. Nene still has lots of promise and fills a position the Kings actually need. They are deep at the swing position.
What I don't get is: we really can't offer something better than a one-nut Brazilian thug on a contract that pays him 10 mil through 2012? Oh come on, what's with all this insanity on the market? Kwame Brown for Gasol? Nene for Artest? What next? Shaq for Marion? Heheheh... Oh wait, that's being discussed too. Darn.
From what was floating around the BBS in the offseason the Maloofs' have a personal vendetta against Adelman and refused to "hand" him Artest for Spanoullis, Snyder, and others. I am not what the beef is about considering they are the ones who fired Adelman (right?). So stealing anything from the Kings seems unlikely if that talk was true.
See the problem here is that teams are expecting to "steal" from one another. And every time, it's those well managed western teams benefiting from these trades. And the west just gets... Well, it's maddening.
I can't believe SAC would be this stupid. Nene has never been any good and has an albatross contract. The only way you would think this would happen is if Denver is throwing in multiple No. 1's. They would be much better off with multiple expirings from us and this year's no. 1. Say Bonzi, Francis, Snyder, and our no. 1. I don't believe that is good value for Artest either, but it is much better than Nene. I would even trade T-mac for Artest and Bibby, but don't start blasting me, because I know the Rockets are not trading T-Mac. If they really want a contributor than Battier plus our no. 1 for Artest would still be much better than Nene and we would again be a contender. Even if Artest didn't re-sign we would be Battier's and Artest's contract under the cap, plus all our expirings. Artest is an awesome player and will bring some much needed fire to the Rockets.
what's up with these teams making absolute terrible trades to other teams in their conference? nene for artest? that's just brutal for sacramento but it would make denver legitimate.
Wow, do some of you actually watch other teams, Nene is no pushover, if he can come back healthy he will give them a solid 4. They have other players at artest position so it is not a bad trade, both teams will get better, which is the point of a trade right? You guys are acting like nene hilario is Kwame Brown. Anyway if it goes through the west will have again gotten better. Its gonna be fun watching the Western conference fight it out for who gets to face LEBRON in the finals. Yes I said it, King James will be in the finals again this year, mark my words
Wallace and Artest would kill each other LOL I think they had a little skirmish already right? Just a little tit-for-tat at a place called let me see....The Palace.
I wouldnt do it if I was Denver. Artest is a good player but I dont see how he will fit that team. Melo plays the three and A.I plays the two, so if you put him in the starting line up A.I would have to play the point....I think. Even if thats not a problem what is the guarantee that he doesnt opt out from Denver like he would have in Sac-Town. Seems like the risk would be losing both Nene and Artest....unless they feel they dont really want/need either one.
