Freedom v Security is a great debate. I do not find myself a very paranoid person, but I lean on the security side.

Semi related is the debate of free will vs. necessity. I suggest everyone read the second epilogue of War and Peace, Tolstoy kills it.

Once again one of the main reasons I didn't vote for Obama in 2012. I wish this stuff would get more attention. I don't know why the GOP wastes their time on fake scandals like IRS and Libya. If I were in the GOP, I'd hit this issue all day everyday until it stopped. If I was a Democrat in congress I would do the same thing as well.

Let me correct myself, I see a washington times article on it. But all the articles seem to just have the same information. I'll be interested to hear more about this in the coming days.

It's a sad state when all you can do is call someone a name. That isn't good form for your side in any argument or discussion, and shows that you lack much to back up your claims.

    But more importantly...

What are you talking about? I'm lying in saying I'm against going after whistleblowers? What the hell am I lying about? How do you know that I'm supposedly in favor of cracking down on whistleblowers?

You do understand that calling someone a liar without a single shred of proof on your side, makes you seem slightly crazy right?

You don't know who I voted for in 2012. I don't think there's any record of my candidate lying. Please go back to posts I made before the election and see that I voted for and claimed I would be voting for the socialist party candidate before the election even took place. That's who I voted for in the end.

If you're saying that I'm lying about who I voted for then I have some other questions for you.

    How would you know?
    Why would I do that?

    Are you totally psychotic?

The GOP can't because many of them support these policies and they know that a Republican President would want the same policies and powers.

The installation of fear into passengers is critical to the model being operated by the Republicrats. Don't expect it to go away any time soon. Just expect the same old same old two parties SAYING different things to make you think there's a debate, while they continue to do roughly the same thing.

TSA only slightly better than chance, GAO requests all TSA SPOT funding be withheld until effectiveness can be proven.

A billion dollars. Jebus. Somebody got filthy rich off this for sure.

    Sudden outbreak of common sense....

Federal judge rules U.S. no-fly list violates Constitution

Obviously, I don't expect this plainly correct decision to make any headway because, you know, terrorism.

Why should they be allowed to challenge the designation? What is this, America or something?

I thought there was a way. And it involved among other things showing up extra early at the airport. I met a guy at a random airport in Europe and he stated that he had to get to his flights hours and hours in advance, and was from Jordan. That would suck

Not directed at you, justtxyank, but bear in mind just how far the government has been abusing these "powers".
