Please, no McGrady ... he is hurting the team big time. Sit him until he can at least compete at a reasonable level. Right now, he can't do that.
I knew he played better with McGrady being around but didn't realize his shooting percentage went up that much. That's encouraging. I'm not totally against trading him if it can make us better but I doubt if that can happen. I would like to see him playing efficiently and well on both ends. I want him to succeed as a Rocket.
good post, so no need to panic we may loss tmac for rest of the season, just focus on buliding chemistry and play hard try to win each every game. Oh, by the way,if we can trade tmac for a quality player(SG or PG), that will be great.
I've said in other threads that unless a potential deal is too good to pass up, I wanna keep Artest. The guy simply just brings it. I want to see what he can do in the playoffs when he's out for blood(not literally of course).
Very true. If not, we'll get to see just how consistently good an Artest-Yao team can be for at least the next month.
Ron Artest is so awesome he doesn't need a separate noun and a verb in the thread title. Ron Artest is a noun and a verb at the same time.
yeah your right but then again I thought about it and its basically not who starts but who finishes. Hopefully we won't be blown out by teams we should beat.
Well yeah, things can change like that though. The loyalties have always been tied to the McGrady/Yao core. Its BEEN about adding pieces around them, factoring in the SAME 65-70 games McGrady of the past 2 seasons. McGrady's shown he cant be counted on anymore. He disrupted the loyalty and changed the fabric of this team. So it doesnt matter if a teammate was planning to shoot McGrady in the leg, its about how do we get this team to win NOW with whomever. There's not much reason to hate on Ron Ron at the end. As erratic as he was in everything he played hard and helped the team more than take away.
These rumors about Artest being traded may be true, but is it really wise to trade Artest? Actions speak louder than words... With Artest this season the Rockets are 31-16. 66% Winning Percentage. With Ron, Rox have won @Dallas, @Pheonix, @Orlando, @Detroit, @Boston, and at home vs Hornets, Spurs, Atlanta, Denver, and Utah. http://www.nba.com/playerfile/ron_artest/game_by_game_stats.html He has played injured for most of the season yet Rox win with him and against Elite Teams. He is averaging 15.9 PPG 5.3 PPG, 3 ASG, not bad considering our team has balanced scoring... He certainly need to make better shot decisions but the stats prove he is a winner and his toughness and competitiveness are undeniable. If there are issues between Tmac and Artest, then Tmac and Ron have to address it between each other like Men, make adjustments if necessary, and realize that this is their greatest opportunity to win a Championship, and worst case scenerio if they cannot solve any potential issues, so what? its not as if TMAC has helped us anywhere close to Ron this year due to Tmac's conditon, etc... I still believe a healthy Tmac is deadly to any opponent... but unfortunately the truth is, our team has played better without him this year. Overall I think Ron is a keeper...
Thanks for compiling that. I wish Artest had more chances here...he hasn't really had a fair shot considering his injuries, the team injuries, and the constantly changing lineup. Certainly I've been disappointed in many games, but I do remember him playing well in most games w/out Tmac and the stats back that up. That's not to totally blame Tmac, clearly a compromise needs to be made between the 2 but I doubt it happens if Artest is still here after the trade deadline.
