It was a suspension because it was a hit above the shoulders. Anything above the shoulders is an automatic suspension, just like kobe and mike miller.
Can Ginobili take even two motherluvin steps without floppin like a little biatch?!?! God, how I hate the fudger!
It was probably intentional. At the same time, it probably got more attention because it was Artest. And also...when it happens to a team with "OH GOD I'VE BEEN SHOT" Ginoboli and 'flying kick to the head' Bowen, it seems a little lopsided. No reason to make it easier for the Spurs.
As much as I would like to have a bruiser like Artest on the Rockets it just shows the difference in between them. Artest seems not to learn from his mistakes and his suspension costs him one game. While I think it's crucial for Sactowm to have him in the line-up to save their bare assssses it helps SA the other way around. If Artest is stupid enough to put a flagrant foul to Ginobili's head, Ginobili only uses this to get it also recognized by the refs by put on some extra flopping. I hate it too when there was no reason for flopping, but in this case there was reason. Teams with smart players win these days not the oompa oompa I'm so strong and stupid ones. And he's Argentinian, but that makes you sympathic.
I love Charles Barkley's comments last night. To paraphrase, The best way to handle guys like narcioni was knock them in the chops. Artest should have knocked Manu in the chops, however he needs to learn how to be less obvious. That was the jist of it at least.
There is one another thing on this video if anybody noticed. Watch for Duncan's move when running by..
exactly. the more i look at this video, the more i'm convinced that Duncan's ass had a lot to do with it. there's no reason Duncan had to stick his butt out like that into Artest. maybe SAR did 'tap' Duncan, but that was quite a performance by Duncan as well. also, take a look at Miller's left arm. his left arm is actually thrown back. this indicates that Miller was pushed by Artest who was pushed by Duncan. if this is not an accident, who knows what is.
Well I see it a little bit different.. Duncan tried to assblock Artest so he could pass him by and run to the basket. Also, Ginobili's iniciative fall around Miller is just arghh! I hate basketball like this.
I can't believe some people are trying to pretend like Artest didn't do it on purpose. You can see his arm heading up at Ginobili's head as soon as he picks up coverage on him. That is well before Duncan is anywhere close to him. It's true that Duncan stuck his butt out to try to impede Artest to give Ginobili a path to the basket, but he didn't get it out in time to stop Artest's hit. I'm surprised the Artest-lovers even want to say it's an accident. Don't you like him because he's "tough" and "an enforcer" and precisely because he does stuff like this?
I don't. I think Artest did it on purpose and he got suspended. I noticed another point of view this video brings..
We already know what the sports journalists think. How do the King's fans see this? You knew he was like this when you got him, but he's the reason your teams in the playoffs at all! But does game ones disaster end the honeymoon? How would we react if he was a Rocket? If the player wasnt Manu? I thought it was definitely a cheap move but I'm not sure I'm all that upset about it. Bowen gets away with much worse but gets a pass for it. Seems wierd to me.
Sorry to say this, but... weren't Pacers fans defending him to death after Auburn Hill, until he demanded a trade? Then, he became public enemy #1 overnight in the Hoosier state. Am I right?
Was there any blood from Manu on the floor? If not, then just like Pop would say, get up and get your ass back down the floor! Hell I remember Mark Price receiving a concussion from a Pistons deliberate elbow and I don't remember any suspension.
if your post was directed at mine. i was just pointing out the difference between a niggly elbow and a dirty elbow.
