Never happened. In fact, Yao was out there to set a screen for Artest instead of getting position. I seem to recall Adelman saying Yao needs to get down there and demand the ball.

So a hot Yao is allowed to go 1 on 5(Worrell even mentioned the other Rockets standing around watching him), but a hot Artest(yes last night he wasnt hot but he gets the same criticism even if he has made his last 6 shots) isnt allowed to go 1 on 5?

How are you guys going to react if we lose a few in a row if this is how you act while we are winning?

    That's DEFINITELY Brooks, not Artest.

Yes it is; it means "take it to the ass with single-minded focus."

    sigh...i give up.

like i said, i love Artest...but he'll end up blowing a key game in the playoffs when he decides at some point that it's his duty to go 1 on 5...and the Rox will be out of a series....

Then there will be a thousand threads of why Ron is a bum and how we should never resign him.

Besides, insisting that Ron run the actual offense that Adelman (by all of your accounts, a GENIUS coach) is asking a bit much...right? He should be allowed to go rogue at times on the floor...and well, we should just DEAL WITH IT...cause after all, we ARE at #3 in the west.

    jesus christ...

Yea...I said it before and Ill say it again.

When he gets out of control, trying to be the hero, sit him down and let him think about following the game plan.

Say what you want...but im telling you it's going to cost us in the playoffs.

Count on it. Or fix it, RA.

Go ahead, call me dumb. I dont care.
    Pathetic.

No one else was stepping up. I'm fine with what Artest did. Trolls please stop coming out to post after players have a bad game.

He almost ALWAYS plays bad against playoff teams. Bad or really really bad. A cancer, like tonight.

Please Morey, get rid of this CANCER.

He tried. He would be criticize either way. He tried to attack and very often he lost the ball. If he just stayed outside and shot 3 pointers all day, he would have been criticized too.

What would you suggest he do different? The Jazz are big and they can play interior defense.

Yao, despite his 4 "blocks", was a non-factor in defense. Hayes was beautiful to watch, as he was there to grab rebounds with aggression and was contesting and changing shots/layups. Yao just stood around. I bet the Jazz got at least 5 open dunks with Yao somewhere near.

Our star players didn't show up, but don't just play them and call for their heads. The Jazz are a great team at home. Get over it.

What about against the Spurs? You are a loser and need to stop watching the Rockets. The Rockets have one of the best records since McGrady sat out and the rotation was official. And guess what? Ron Artest is a HUGE part of the success, whether his numbers tell the story or not.

Again, you are an irrational fan and should 1) go back to school or 2) stop sharing your wrong, uneducated opinions. Or both.

actually i'm fine too b/c realistically, he's the only one who's willing to step up the pressure consistently in games like this. i don't expect anyone else, maybe scola, to do it.

but the thing is artest is NOT GOOD ENOUGH to do this. he doesn't have superstar talent nor superstar skills to take over a game. that's the problem. so that's fine if he wants to take over a game. but do so on the defensive end. offensively, he's a good player and nothing more.

Did you watch the game? Once Yao is out of the game, our lanes were just wide open and got attacked immediately.

that just meant he's not good enough. do other things to help your team win. he was never an offensive juggernaut, don't try to be one.

yao will always have games like this when he's a "non-factor." and that's why i fear he'll have 2-3 of these in the playoffs, esp. if we play the jazz.

Im gonna cosign this. Artest is not the offensive juggernaut he thinks he is. I am clueless as to why he is allowed to take that many shots except for Adelman being afraid of him.

I'm not sure what game you were watching. Yao gave Ronnie Brewer more And 1's than the guy has had all season. He also allowed Boozer to get into a nice rhythm in the third quarter. The defense was instantly better when Hayes was in the game. It was like night and day.
