He could be serving food. He once applied for a job at Best buy or something to get the employee discount when he was getting drafted.

Good, the sooner he leaves, the more he looks like a sore loser that he is. True warrior, sure Ron, sure..

I think he'll sit back and chill for the 1st part of the season and then sign with someone near the end of the season for the playoffs.

how is someone who gets amnestied a sore loser?

he's an NBA champion and helped the Rockets win their first series in 12 years

So the headline in LA Times would be "Metta World Peace Retires", sure way to start a few panics.

Getting amnestied has nothing to do with why I perceive him as a loser. The reasons why:
    A) He wanted to go to the Lakers all along to 'help' Kobe get his ring, went to the locker room after he lost to the Celtics, so never really wanted to be in Houston
    B) The reason why he won't play for another team is because either his feelings are hurt and or he knows he sucks now so bolts for China
    C) He dissed the Rockets several times after leaving, so easy to become big headed once you get to LA
    D) He's a fraud, that blow to Harden's head, playing dirty to embarrass the opponent, the crazy name change, the ridiculous statements like he's deeply religious and deep in the streets etc. makes him come across as a poser

wow, OTMax, it is interesting to see both sides of such a polarizing player.

-I think he did exactly what Dwight did. he took a ride as far as he could go with the Rockets, saw the team's deficiencies after the devastating career ending injury of Yao Ming, and left for, yes, a chance to win a ring.

-I won't begin to speculate what I know about Ron Artest's inner thoughts and why he might be saying he is retiring on twitter. it's Ron Artest on twitter. you can invite him to your beach volleyball game and he might just show up.

    ???
-I have never heard him diss the Rockets even once, in fact I have heard the exact opposite when it comes to Artest's fondness for Houston and the franchise.

he loves Yao Ming, he loves Luis Scola, and he was great with the fans and the local media here.

    good community guy, too.

-I guess growing up in the nation's largest housing project and witnessing a man get stabbed in the heart with a table leg during a pickup basketball game isn't enough street cred 'round these parts

I like the guy, he plays by his own rules, and I hope he's just trolling.
