Exactly........... One number..................81 I rest my case........... Wake me up in 2099 when some young player finally breaks that record....... that was kobe memo to the rest of the league to say "GET ON MY LEVEL"......... And he did it just to do it............
Why Thank You. Kobe is the best in the game, but it doesn't mean much. I still think T-Mac is more talented than Kobe, but since Kobe has had the better success in the league plus on top of that he plays for the Lakers, he is going to get credit. Ever since Shaq left, Kobe playoff success was IDENTICAL to T-Mac's in Orlando until he got Gasol. Call it "delusional" or whatever, it is the truth.
He scored 81, your point is? What did his team do that post season? He can go score 150 in one game, but if his team doesn't win a title that year, it doesn't mean anything. But hey, at least he boosted his self-esteem and his so-called "legacy" that one game. Can't blame a self-centered person like that.
You back again rook......... I can tell u are a rook because your arguements are terrible at best and u are just getting your feet wet here in the BBS.....so i will go easy on you this time....lol Look heres the point and after this I am thru with this and ignoring all Rooks for a year......... 81 is a magical number........as is 100 points in a game...... these are rare feats that u usually only see once in a lifetime and should cherish.......thats my only point........something to tell the grandkids you witnessed Mcqwire breakin homerun record, Barry Bonds Etc....... Jamaal Lewis.....200 yard game....... HOUSTON ROCKETS 22 GAME WIN STREAK............ Nolan Ryan express.............. All are things u can say u witnessed in your lifetime thats my only point on mentioning 81......not comparing his playoff or any other record breakers playoff records to any of that Just sayin seein these things was watching history in the making and seeing something you wont see in a long time...........thats all If u base it on post season success than none of the above mean squat because most of the above records were not followed by post season success.....including our rockets......... Now if u wanna compare resumes...........like u so duely noted...........Kobe trumps Tracy there in every category....... Shaq or no shaq......at the end of the day Kobe has 3 rings even if he never ever played a NBA game for the rest of his days.....which is a great accomphishment in any major sport league period.......I dont care who was on the team........... 3 rings and one is a back to back...............sayin shaq was on the team means squat....it doenst put an asterisk by kobe as he was an integrel part of the winning as well..........so dont argue that point....if u wanna pick on somebodys ring ridin a coat-tail pick on Mark Madsen on those teams........Not Kobe bryant so many greats have never sniffed a ring with awesome teams(i.e. Barkley, Karl Malone, Pat Ewing) so saying that like the laker dynasty was nuthin is the worse arguement in the world.........if anything u should have said PHIL JACKSONS name.....beacuse he is the one who walked thru the door and they started winning some rings Kobe and shaq were already there together and not winning squat before he got there with essentially the same team big guy...........losing in the playoffs......so your kobe only won because of shaq logic is feeble at best......... Now skillwise I totally agree with u.....tracy all around skill wise might be better than kobe..........but kobe has that thing pumpin in his chest that definately makes him head and shoulders better than our beloved tmac.........I wish tmac could take some of his millions and go invest in some of that killer instinct stuff that kobe has bought from MJ........... Schools over rook.......thanks for coming.....and I will be here all week...lol
Seems..............like....................you......................don't..........................know.............................what..............................you......................................saying.............................................
You basically said in that post that since he scored 81 points in one game, that makes him already better than anyone else in the league, not this nonsense of a post saying its a memorable moment for the NBA and in general, sports.
cheers man!! its a good day to be a Rocket fan. To the rest who are worried that Greene might turn out to be another Rudy Gay.. LETS WORRY ABOUT THAT LATER..
Might be time to change the sig now DD? I would've thought picking up Artest/ Barry fills all of our 'wing needs'?
Haha, going back through this thread, just about everybody, including myself, offered trade proposals that gave up much more than the actual trade that happened. My proposal was Shane and Head for Artest. I was told that was not enough to get it done.
Very few of us thought that we could get him for an expiring pick but Greene is the main principal here because of his upside. Battier wasn't wanted. I'm glad that keeping Shane not only gives some insurance for Ron's behavior but it improves our defense as well.
If Rudy Gay played for a team with a established core, he would be getting no where near those stats.
I wish more people realized this. Yes Rudy Gay has turned out to be a great player, but put him on a legitimate team and his numbers take a dive, especially his scoring. Pugs
