Usually, reasons for poor play (other than injuries) are lack of talent, lack of talent, and also lack of talent. So it appears you are already building in an excuse.
Really? So it can't be a 4th game in 5 nights and they are tired? Hmmm......I guess with our no talent 55 win team we should all just feel lucky..huh? I mean the best center and top 4 SG is just not good enough talent to win..... Not everyone has a three headed monster, some do it with good team work and maximizing their overall TEAM talent... I would love an upgrade to Rafer, but that is the only position on the team I think we could use an upgrade, and even with that....we are good enough. DD
Yao is not conditioned and/or built to play 35 minutes a game for 82 games...and Tracy has alot of miles on him already...did you not see his body deteriorating in front of your eyes last year !?!?! feel lucky that we're even MAKING the playoffs...yes, they will do what it takes to get IN to the playoffs, but don't expect the current roster to actually win a series against OTHER teams out West... i agree with that statement who were the two teams in the Finals this year !?!?! Lakers and Celts Lakers Kobe - greatest player to walk the planet Gasol - young guy, All-Star Odom - long, lean, scoring All-Star Celts KG - most charasmatic and intense player to put on a uniform Pierce - top 5 SG in the league, at least a 6 time All-Star, can put up 30 on any given night Allen - prettiest jumper to ever grace the NBA, All-Star many times over, can typically land about four 3's for you a night nuff said - NEXT !!!!! i agree this is a good team, but what people want is a CHAMPIONSHIP CALIBER team...you're content on just being good...
It has been proved that Kobe is not the best. Tell me how someone could be considered the best when in 5 finals he was never the best player on the floor and never even showed it?
still, he can score 40, 50 and even 60 points at will, he leads his team down the stretch, he plays top 5 defense in the league, he can dunk with the best of them as well as step out over 25 feet and knock down shots...he's been a starting All-Star almost his entire career and will easily walk into the hall of fame... thanks for missing the point though...
At will?? He has 1 game of 50 points in the playoffs in his career and 6 games of 40+ in the playoffs. By comparison Tmac has 7 games of 40+ in the playoffs and Iverson has 10 games of 40+ with 3 games of 50+.
1st off, DD, u know I have respect for you and your opinions, but I think you're falling into the trap of accepting mediocre ball. The whole notion of if healthy, is a variable that has backfired year after year. What's wrong with dealing with absolutes? I think this team is 1 legit scorer from a title. Not team building or 2nd rd success, but title worthy. I think scola or rafer would be great 4th or 5th scorers. Asking them to move to the 2nd when 1 star go down or even the 3rd is asking for trouble. I'm also going to say I don't think u can say a guy is the teams best player when the team plays .670 ball without you. I'm also of the opinion that we don't really know if some of those games th rox lost with out yao would have been wins. Now we can assume, but assuming is what it is. 55 wins is great, but 1st rd defeats does enough to mix it up for me. The building, slow steady progress should have been done tracy and yao's 1st year. Even after that, it should have been don't the lottery season. Now its now or never for the next 2 years.
Exactly!! We need to do what we can to get that 3rd scorer here so that we can win a title in the next 3-4 years and even multiple ones. I think we are at the point where we have to try something, because another 1st round exit and we will be rebuilding with no future in sight.
At least I found somebody on my level........ I been sayin the same thing in all my posts to DD in this thread for the last 3 pages........... But like I said earlier.......We cant rag this guy any longer......... I figured it out a few posts ago with DD........Us and him have different expectations We think with the right move we can compete for a Championship.......He from his posts is lookin for a mini run in the playoffs maybe finally gettin the first round monkey off our back........and thats good with him He said earlier his expectations are not to come out the West and that only one team in the west can do that...........and that we have only done it 4 times in our existence.........so hes on a seperate page I feel the Yao and Tracy project can net us a Championship easy if we dont stand pat and get somebody to take the scoring and pressure of playin major minutes off our fragile stars..........get that and we will soar........
Another delusional rookie......I dont even see why we reply to u guys all the times we do...lol Clutch has got to do something about these silly kids... Kids sometimes say the dardest things............ lets not start a debate in this forum about kobe being the best in the universe... He is.....point blank period.............
Uh, no, we are on seperate pages, but the seperation is that I think the team is good enough AS IS to win a championship. They are one of the few teams that are in the mix.......RIGHT NOW..... You think we are not....that is the difference. I believe that a team that wins 55 games after having 33% roster turnover with an entirely new coaching staff, and 3 rookies making significant contributions will be even BETTER the next year. Manu Ginobli was not the magical 3rd scorer for the Spurs overnight, they didn't panic when Parker was not great his rookie year....they allowed their players to DEVELOP into a championship team....I believe in following that path... Rome was not built in a day.........and right now, the Rockets are ready to take off......championship level.....IMO......as assembled. DD
But yet, we've never even got out the first round yet, and here you are with championship aspirations. The difference is, Manu and TP showed signs of flashes, all the while with a healthy and dominant Tim Duncan as they gelled into a dynasty. Scola is showing signs, but, Yao and T-Mac haven't been healthy for a full season, really. T-Mac and Yao's injury concerns DICTATES the Rockets need to improve. Regular season is one thing. Playoffs are another story.
Well thought out and DELUSIONAL post. One can maybe argue after this years Finals that Kobe is not the next MJ (how laughable were those arguments!!), but Kobe IS the best in the game. Lebron is coming up fast. No one else, including TMac, come close.
wow..............thats almost all i can say is wow........... U think this roster as is with no tweaks is ready to win a championship now???? Capable of winning a 7 game series against New Orleans Lakers Spurs Utah??????????? We cant even beat the Mavs in the past couple seasons man....... I want some of what hes having
